Hello friends! Many times we want to turn off notifications from certain messaging apps for a while. Either because we want to take a break from certain areas of our life or because we are busy with something. One of the top messaging apps around the world is WhatsApp. The only problem is that WhatsApp does not have a do not disturb mode or at least not currently. However, there are some settings we can make to achieve this. In this post, we will show you how to activate the do not disturb mode in WhatsApp. Although this application does not have this mode. We will show you how to set up WhatsApp for those moments when you need some quiet. The best part is that only you can notice it. And it’s completely reversible if you want to leave it as it was initially.

Turn off notifications

For starters, we’ll recommend a more general option that applies to the entire app. But later we will touch on more specific options. Disable WhatsApp notifications, it will grant you that silence you are looking for. Since your phone will not ring or vibrate when you receive any WhatsApp message. It’s a bit of a drastic method but one that you should try.

To turn off WhatsApp notifications on Android follow the steps below:

First step

Hello folks! After 2022 loaded with new features on WhatsApp. Meta application has taken little time to launch its first new feature of the year. It is not one of the most anticipated new features of 2023. But it is an important function and especially to avoid censorship in some territories. And WhatsApp added proxy support as the first major new feature of the year. So in this post, we’ll show you how to set up a proxy in WhatsApp for Android. You just need to have the app updated and follow a few simple steps that we will discuss in this opportunity.

What is the point of having a proxy in WhatsApp?

Without going into too many technical details about what a proxy is. We can say that this is a server that acts as an intermediary between a client and another server. If we apply it to WhatsApp, it serves as an intermediate point between the WhatsApp server itself and you. Allowing in this way that there are no obstacles to the use of the application.

It is a fact that there are no banned words or similar censorship in WhatsApp. But some governments do prevent the use of this application. For this reason, WhatsApp has added this possibility of connection. For all those who are in a territory where they can not use the app normally.

This setting may be unnecessary if you live in countries where the use of WhatsApp is allowed. It can be extremely useful if you travel to a territory where it is blocked. After all, we cannot forget that it is one of the most popular messaging apps in the world.

It is worth noting, as WhatsApp itself states on its website. This configuration does not contraindicate the encryption of chats. This way you can continue to use it securely and privately. The already-known end-to-end encryption that keeps the application on Android and iOS for several years now.

Steps to configure a proxy in WhatsApp

First of all, you must have the address of a proxy to add to the application. Once you have it, write it down or copy it to the clipboard so you can paste it later in the process:

Sixth step

Then tap now on Set Proxy and paste or type the proxy address. Finally, click on Save.

How to set up a proxy in WhatsApp for Android

Once this is done you will be able to use WhatsApp normally with a valid proxy. And thus circumvent the possible blocks that exist for the use of the application. To disable it or change the address just follow the same route and disable it. You can also click on the current address so that the text box appears again and add the new one.

Hello folks! We didn’t have to wait long to have polls on WhatsApp for Android. The new polls feature in WhatsApp was appearing in a staggered manner. Initially for users who use the app on an iPhone. Now, at last, the polls are starting to appear for Android devices as well. As a result, it is now possible to create a survey directly from WhatsApp for Android. Without having to resort to external tools. As in a past edition, we had already told you about an external method to conduct surveys. A method is no longer necessary because WhatsApp was updated to integrate this new feature natively. In this post, we will teach you how to use the new polls feature in WhatsApp for Android. As well as how this new feature also works.

Create polls on WhatsApp for Android

WhatsApp has now started to enable polls also on Android. Attentive because they are also available in normal chats. You will know if you have them active in your account when you press the attach file button. Then you will see a new row where you will find the new Survey button. If you still don’t see this button you should be patient. It should not take much longer to appear. In case you want to be more sure that you have the new feature. To increase the probability, you can install the latest beta version of WhatsApp and try to force close, clear the cache, and/or restart the phone. With this version, you will have the new features before most users.

After pressing the button, it’s time to create the survey itself. To do this you have to add a question and add the options that will be available. You can add more by typing in the +Add field, as well as remove options by deleting all their text. It is also possible to change the options by dragging up or down the button with four horizontal lines.

This is the whole process for creating polls in WhatsApp:

First step

Start a WhatsApp chat either group or private chat.

Start a WhatsApp chat either group or private chat.

Second step

Then tap the “paperclip” button(The button used to attach files).

Then tap the “paperclip” button(The button used to attach files).

Fourth step

Next, type the text of the question and add the options.

Next, type the text of the question and add the options.

Fifth step

Finally, tap the send button to send the poll to the chat.

Finally, tap the send button to send the poll to the chat.

This is how WhatsApp polls look like

WhatsApp polls are displayed directly in the chat with all the available options. Anyone who sees it will be able to add their choice. They are not anonymous, so the profile picture of who has voted appears next to each option. By tapping on View votes it is possible to see in detail who voted what and at what exact time. An important fact is that WhatsApp polls always allow multiple selections. So it is possible to mark as many options as you want. They are visible in all versions of WhatsApp: also in WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp Desktop.

How to use the new polls feature on WhatsApp for Android

Conclusion

This new way of conducting polls on WhatsApp is more convenient and practical. Although at the moment it seems to be more oriented to more informal use. For example to make surveys in a family or friends group. Since it allows multiple selections and the votes are not anonymous. Hopefully, this feature will improve over time and allow you to modify more parameters of the survey. Thanks for reading us. Bye!

Hello friends! Some WhatsApp news arrives with prior notice. While one of the most important new features of WhatsApp, has suddenly arrived: being able to use your same WhatsApp account on two phones at the same time, or on a phone and a tablet. WhatsApp’s multi-device mode takes a new leap. Allowing us to use it to configure our WhatsApp account in its official application. Instead of having to do it on WhatsApp Web or WhatsApp Desktop, as until now. The new feature is available to everyone through WhatsApp Beta and is considered beta. In this post, we’ll show you how to use the new WhatsApp multi-device mode.

Use WhatsApp on two Android phones at the same time

WhatsApp debuted the new multi-device mode more than a year ago now. Is a way to use your WhatsApp account without having your main phone always connected to the Internet. That is, these devices work independently. Instead of synchronizing from the phone, as until then. The big downside of this new multi-device mode is that you could not use it to have your WhatsApp account on two phones, or tablets.

Thanks to this new feature, you can use your WhatsApp account on multiple Android phones or tablets

Instead, if you wanted to use WhatsApp on more than one phone or a phone and a Tablet. You needed to resort to tricks, using WhatsApp Web on them. But the result is simply not as smooth as using the official app. Now, WhatsApp finally lets us use its app in companion mode. That is, just as WhatsApp Web or WhatsApp Desktop works. This opens the door to having your WhatsApp account on up to four Android phones or tablets at once.

WhatsApp Beta

Use the new mode on your Tablet

In the case of tablets, you can now download WhatsApp for your tablet directly from Google Play, without having to install the application from the APK. As we already told you, WhatsApp on a tablet opens directly in companion mode, showing the QR code that you must scan from WhatsApp on your main phone to start using the app. It’s the same menu as always: Linked devices > Link a device.

QR code

Use the new mode on your phone

For your phone, you must first download the beta version of Whatsapp on your second phone. You can download it from a reliable source such as APK Mirror.

APK Mirror | Whatsapp Beta

Then open WhatsApp on the second phone after installing the app. What usually appears to you is the menu to register a new account with the phone number. But you can switch to the linked mode.

press the ⋮ menu button

To do this, press the ⋮ menu button and choose “Link a device” from the menu that appears. This will bring up the “Link this device to your phone” screen. Which includes the pairing instructions and, at the bottom of it all, the QR code that you need to scan with your primary phone.

Link a device

The rest of the steps are the same as always. On your main WhatsApp phone, tap the ⋮ menu button and choose “Linked devices”. Tap on Pair a device and scan the QR code displayed on the other phone or tablet. After a few seconds of syncing, you will have successfully duplicated your WhatsApp on multiple Android devices.

Link with your phone

Conclusion

WhatsApp’s synced mode has worked frankly well, despite still being a beta version. The only nitpick is that the maximum device limit is still four devices in total. Thanks for reading us. Bye!

Hello friends! WhatsApp communities are gradually being activated region by region. So it’s a matter of time before they end up reaching everyone. Occupying the old space of the camera tab. This a prime spot that proves WhatsApp has big plans for the feature. If you still do not have this novelty active in your account. In this post, we tell you in-depth how WhatsApp communities are and how they work. In case you already have this feature available on your device. We’ll show you what you can do with it, as it can be a bit complex.

What are WhatsApp communities?

WhatsApp has decided to create a hierarchy above its groups. Which until now all functioned independently. Thus communities are born, which are a collection of groups with a common theme. Each community has some members, a name, an icon, an announcement group, and up to 24 subgroups within it. Each with 512 or 1024 participants. Unlike the groups, you cannot add indiscriminate people to them. Rather, the only way for someone to join is through an invitation link.

Where WhatsApp communities are

Communities have stolen the place of the camera tab. So when you have communities active on WhatsApp. You will see them in the first tab of the application, on the left side of the app. The first time you enter that tab you will see a welcome screen. But when you are already using the function here are displayed all the communities of which you are a member. Each one of them encompasses the subgroups it has inside. To see all the subgroups, you must click “See all”.

WhatsApp communities

How to create a community

WhatsApp welcomes you to the communities by inviting you to create one. From the communities tab. Although you can also simply join an existing one, as we will see in the next section. To create a community from the welcome screen, you must click “Start your community”. You can also create communities later from this tab, by clicking New community.

Start your community

Creating a community consists of a few simple steps, the first of which is to enter a name, a description, and an image or icon. This step is the same as creating any normal WhatsApp group.

Creating a community

The difference comes in the next step, because instead of adding members, what we must do is add groups. The notification one is already created by itself, but we can also create new groups or add others that we already have, with the only requirement that you do not already belong to a community (you can only be in one).

WhatsApp communities

The creation of a community ends with you in that community, but no one else, unless you have included a group that already has members. In that case, the members of that group become part of the community.

How to add members to a community

As mentioned before, your community starts somewhat lonely, usually with you in it and no one else. Adding members to the community is similar, but not identical, to add members to a group. The big difference is that you can’t just add members, they must join with a link. To create a community invitation link you must use the context menu and go to “View members“. After clicking on the Community invitation link you have the option to copy it to the clipboard, send it to a chat or share it with other installed apps.

View members

How to delete a community

Nothing is forever, not even WhatsApp communities. When you want to get rid of a community you have created, you can do it from its information page, at the bottom, by tapping on Deactivate community.

As the explanatory text indicates, deactivating a community deletes its description, information, and photo, as well as the notification group, but the groups that inside survived and can continue to operate independently. Thanks for reading us. Bye!

Hello folks! One of the most important issues, when we talk about messaging applications, is privacy. Which has been improving significantly over time. One service that stands out in this section is WhatsApp. Despite multiple criticisms, in recent times due to the new conditions, they implemented in 2021. Currently, WhatsApp remains the most used messaging app, above Telegram and other similar apps on the market. Thanks to that it is the favorite of millions of users. The app is configurable if we want to show as little information as possible. Like avoiding showing the connection time, among other things. In this post, we will show you how to see the WhatsApp statuses of your contacts without them noticing.

Using File Explorer

One of the easy methods to view WhatsApp status without your contacts noticing is by using File Explorer. It is one of the ways, though not the only one that exists. This process consists of a few steps, including being able to view the images without having to use the WhatsApp application. The file explorer serves to perform various tasks, such as the option of being able to take a look at those images of some of the apps that are installed on your phone. Remember that it is like a database to consult any image, as well as documents that pass through our device. A file explorer that you can use to do this task is the “File Manager by Xiaomi”, but you also have other explorers such as Google Files, ES File Explorer, and Solid Explorer, among others.

First step

Download and install the File Manager app by following the link below:

Google Play | File Manager by Xiaomi: Explorer your files easily

Second step

Then open the File Manager app.

Then open the File Manager app.

Third step

After that, drop down all the options of the File Manager by clicking on the three bars in the top left corner. Then click on Settings and activate the “Show hidden files” option, you must get to the WhatsApp statuses folder.

Then search now for the WhatsApp folder

Statuses

Using Warn

It is Warn is an app available on the Play Store that will serve to recover deleted messages, but also gives you the possibility to download those statuses you want. As the choice is by the user this will allow you to preview them without using the WhatsApp app.

To start using it, do the following:

The first step is to download the app from the Play Store, it is available at this link

After downloading and installing it, give the permissions that it asks for, which are important to start using it.

Download the status of the contact you want, you can go down one by one and have each of them safely, then go to the “Downloads” folder on your device and view the one you want.

Conclusion

Both methods are effective to prevent our contacts from finding out if we have seen any of their statuses. But in case you do not want to use any app. You can always disable the reading confirmations from the WhatsApp privacy section. Thanks for reading us. Bye!

Hello friends! WhatsApp is an app that has a lot of tricks and features. Besides being one of the most used apps today. WhatsApp usually stores many files of different types, and if you have a phone with limited space. You may find yourself in the situation of running out of storage space, which is detrimental to the proper functioning of your phone. However, there are different tricks you can apply to solve this problem. And avoid running out of storage space because of WhatsApp. In addition, they will help you to have a greater order of your files on your phone. Customized versions of Android from some manufacturers such as Xiaomi include a cleaner that could be helpful too. In this post, we will show you how to free up space on your Android phone on WhatsApp.

Disable automatic file downloading

By default, all files in WhatsApp are downloaded automatically, and this makes you lose control over the files that are downloaded to your phone through conversations. If you disable the automatic download with mobile data, roaming, and WiFi, you will have to click on each file you want to download and, if you have seen it and no longer need it, you can take the opportunity to delete the file, directly. With this, you will not store thousands of photos, videos, and audio that are going through the groups of which you are part and that you may not even have seen. Since in these groups where they tend to share this type of files that end up filling the storage of your phone. Logically, the images or videos you want to keep should not be deleted from your gallery or from the conversation itself.

First step

Open WhatsApp

Second step

Then go to Settings

Then go to Settings

Third step

After that, click on “Storage & Data”

click on “Storage & Data”

Fourth step

Finally, disable automatic downloading of items when you are using mobile data, Wi-Fi, and Roaming. This way files are no longer downloaded automatically filling up your device’s storage.

Remove videos from the backup

WhatsApp takes care of backing up all your conversations and files, this includes videos that are usually received and sent through the app. These backups are made both in the cloud and locally. Although it is a fact that the videos usually take up too much space, with the increase of the size limit that is possible to send by WhatsApp and the increase in quality of the same. So it would not be a bad idea to leave them out of the backup if the goal is to free up space.

First step

Open WhatsApp

Second step

Then go to Settings

Third step

After that, select “Chats”

WhatsApp free up space

Fourth step

Finally, open Backup and uncheck “Include videos”.

open Backup and uncheck “Include videos”

An alternative to save the videos you want to keep, upload them to Google Drive, Google Photos, Dropbox, or the cloud storage service you usually use. Also, some services like Google Photos can free up space on the phone by keeping the images and videos synchronized in the cloud.

Conclusion

WhatsApp is one of the apps that we use the most and is one of those that have the greatest impact on the storage of our devices. Therefore, cleaning it periodically is more than recommended, to maintain the optimal functioning of our phone. And even more so when we have been using the same account for many years. If this is the case the backup should have a considerable size that you can recover using the tricks in this post. Thanks for reading. Bye-bye!

Hello folks! As of today, the most common thing is that some phones allow you to use two WhatsApp accounts on the same phone. They achieve this by duplicating the WhatsApp app. What if your goal is to do the opposite? That is, to use the same WhatsApp account on two different Android devices. It is also possible, even though WhatsApp does not yet officially support it. So while we wait for it shortly. The arrival of the new WhatsApp multi-device mode will allow us to use the same account on multiple phones and tablets, as it is possible in Telegram natively. For now, the alternative you can use is WhatsApp Web. It is not perfect, but it is very easy and you avoid using third-party applications, with the security problems that can bring. That’s why in this post, we’ll show you how to use the same WhatsApp account on two different Android phones.

Your WhatsApp account on two different phones

Currently, you can only use WhatsApp on one phone at a time, whether we like it or not. The only option is to use WhatsApp for PC or WhatsApp Web, but neither of these tools is focused on mobile devices. WhatsApp’s new multi-device mode doesn’t require the phone to be on and connected. It has led us, users, to believe that perhaps in the future the app will enable using our account on more than one phone. In the new beta, it allows you to connect four devices, but only one phone. What you can do is use WhatsApp Web on your second phone.

First step

Open WhatsApp and tap the three dots in the top right corner to see the options. Then click on “Linked devices”

click on “Linked devices”

Second step

Then tap on “Link a device”. It will ask you to unlock the screen by fingerprint or face unlock.

tap on “Link a device”

Third step

After that, on your secondary phone go to web.whatsapp.com. Remember that for it to work properly you must have the “Desktop site” option enabled in the browser.

You must have the “Desktop site option” enabled in the browser

Go to web.whatsapp.com

Fourth step

Then go back to your primary phone and scan the QR code displayed on the second phone. You will be logged in, effectively having WhatsApp on two phones. With the new multi-device mode, you can also use WhatsApp on this second phone when the other one is turned off, which is a nice addition.

Go back to your primary phone and scan the QR code

WhatsApp web

Add a shortcut

If you want to have quicker access to WhatsApp on this second phone you can add a shortcut to your phone’s home screen, to open it with a tap. WhatsApp Web is not designed to be used on the small screens of a phone, so it can be a little uncomfortable to use on the phone, although you will have no problem using it on a tablet as they have larger screens.

First step

On your second phone, click on the three dots located in the upper corner of the screen to see the browser options. Then click on “Add to home screen”

click on “Add to home screen”

Second step

Finally, click on “Add”

On a phone, a good idea is to use it with the screen in landscape, this way you can see the whole interface without having to scroll in all directions. You can also pair a physical keyboard to type more comfortably.

Conclusion

The ability to use WhatsApp Web to have WhatsApp on a second phone is a very interesting trick for emergencies, although it must be admitted that it does not give the same experience as using WhatsApp in its native application for obvious reasons. We continue to hope that in the future WhatsApp will allow us to use your account on multiple phones officially. Thanks for reading us. Bye!

Hello friends! WhatsApp is the most used messaging app on the planet. Because of this, it would be rare not to have it installed on our devices. And is part of our day. Since it is one of the apps that we use the most, we are discovering more and more tricks that allow us to take advantage of it even more. One of them is to be able to send messages to yourself, it may sound funny, since the main function of WhatsApp is to be able to communicate with others, but it makes sense if you want to use WhatsApp for something else. Therefore, in this post, we will teach you how to send messages to yourself on WhatsApp.

Alternative uses you can give to WhatsApp

Being able to send messages to yourself will open a window of possibilities, in which you can use WhatsApp as a substitute for a notes app, and a very complete one because you can even do it with voice notes. You could also store important documents. Another alternative use that is worth mentioning is that using WhatsApp web you can transfer multimedia files to your PC in a more comfortable way without having to connect your phone using a USB cable.

Creating contact with your number

This is probably the easiest method because WhatsApp works by scanning your contact book, just creating a new contact with your number, after WhatsApp has synchronized with your contact book, search for your contact in WhatsApp and start a conversation. This way you can start sending files, writing, or sending voice notes among other things.

Creating contact with your number

Using a Weblink

A little-known method, which will allow you to start a conversation with yourself, is using a Web link. Thanks to this method you will also be able to start a conversation with any contact that you have not set in your address book.

First step

Open your phone’s browser.

Second step

Then enter the following address http://wa.me/phonenumber where “phone number” is your WhatsApp number. For example, http://wa.me/1234567. Remember that at the beginning of your phone number must be your area code.

Then enter the following address

Third step

After that, once the page has loaded tap the “Continue chatting” button. Now just start the conversation and it will be saved in your chat history.

After that, once the page has loaded tap the “Continue chatting” button

Now just start the conversation

Creating a single person group

Finally, another fairly simple method to send messages to yourself on WhatsApp, with one of the great classics of messaging apps. We refer to the one-person groups. How to do it? Just create a group with another user (it is advisable to warn him before so he is not surprised), and then, once created, expel that same user.

Creating a single person group

That’s it, you already have a group in which you are the only ones in it. This trick is so useful that it even allows you to create thematic groups to have several active chats with yourselves. One with recipes, another with voice notes for our future project, another with photos of a moment you want to remember. And this is achieved with single-person groups.

Conclusion

WhatsApp has proven over time that it is an excellent messaging app, and it can be used in many areas, as you can see. In this way, it can become the perfect complement for many users, who want to perform more specific tasks. Also in this way, each of the messages you send will be backed up in the cloud, as long as you have this feature activated. Thanks for reading us. Bye.

Hello friends! WhatsApp is one of the apps that we use every day, it has become part of our lives, and is a fundamental tool to communicate and for many, it is a work tool. It hides very useful features that can help you improve your experience and that can even change the way you normally use WhatsApp. In this post, we will show you some tips and tricks for WhatsApp for Android.

Chat with someone you don’t have in your contacts

You’ve probably ever wanted to chat with someone but without adding them to your contacts. But WhatsApp does not incorporate a dedicated function to perform this action. Therefore you will be forced to add their phone number to your contacts. There is an app that will allow you to create a shortcut to this number and then you will be able to enter the conversation without any problem. You can also create a shortcut from WhastApp but, for this, you need to have the conversation open.

First step

Download and install the app by following the link below:

Google Play | Click to chat [small, no ads]

Second step

Open the app

Third step

Then enter the phone number and the prefix without special characters, only numbers from zero to nine.

Enter the phone number and the prefix without special characters

Fourth step

After that, press the “open” button and it will automatically open the conversation. This way you can avoid having to save the number in your contacts to start a conversation.

Press the “open” button

it will automatically open the conversation

How to protect WhatsApp with fingerprint

If your phone has fingerprint protection, as most of the phones that are launched on the market these days, it is quite simple to extend this protection to WhatsApp. To open the app, you will be asked to place your fingerprint to be able to log in.

First step

Open WhatsApp and tap the three dots located in the upper right corner.

Tap the three dots located in the upper right corner.
