How to install Slack on Ubuntu 20.04?

In my case, I downloaded the package using Firefox, and therefore, it is in the Downloads folder.

And it uses APT to perform the installation:

sudo apt install slack-desktop-4.9.1-amd64.deb

And you can run it from the main menu.

Second method: Installing Slack on Ubuntu 20.04 through the Ubuntu store

Slack is also available in Snap format. Therefore it is possible to install it from the Ubuntu application store.

It is as easy as opening it from the main menu. And from the search engine use the keyword Slack.

Then, in the first result, you will have Slack. Click on this first result.

And then you will see all the information about the package as the description, size, and origin. At first, you will see the Install button. Click on it, enter your password and it will start the installation process.

In the end, you will be able to run Slack from the main menu. This method is a little easier for beginners but it consumes a little more memory because the package weighs 140M and the DEB is a little less than 50M.

In any case, Slack is ready to be launched from the main menu.
