How to Use Nearby Sharing on Windows 10

Windows 10 is packed with tons of awesome features and “Nearby Sharing” is one of the latest additions to the arsenal. It is a really handy feature built-in in Windows 10 from now on. It’s available from Windows 10 Spring Creators Update v1803.

Let’s take a look at the brand new feature and how to use it.

Nearby Sharing

If you want to enjoy this feature, you have to enable it from “Shared Experience”.

Search for “Shared Experience” in the Start menu, or go to Settings >> System >> Shared Experience (from the left panel).

Turn the slide to “On” and enjoy the quick file sharing between the nearby computer(s). It also shows the available option for sharing connection options (Wi-Fi or Bluetooth). The sharing is performed without any password.

Sharing a file

If you want to share a file, it’s really easy. Right-click on the required file and select “Share”.

You’ll be offered all the available nearby PCs.

If the feature is turned on, you can get a notification that someone is trying to send a file(s) to you. You can either accept it or deny if have any suspicion.
