How to enable and use Hyper V on Windows 10.

Hello! It is good to be with you again! In this opportunity, we are going to talk to you about virtualization. It refers to the creation of a virtual resource such as a server, desktop, operating system, file, storage or network. This term is most commonly associated with the ability to run several operating systems simultaneously on a single computer. In addition, the different operating systems behave uniquely, running with their files and libraries and remaining disconnected from the host computer. This is called a virtual machine.

There are many reasons to use virtualization. For the average user, the ability to use tools made for different operating systems without having to change computers or reboot into another system. On the other hand, The server administrators offer them the opportunity to run different operating systems within the same server. In addition, this flexibility allows for offering different alternatives, depending on the particular needs of each user. Meanwhile, there are different options in the market to achieve this, such as Virtualbox and Vmware. However, Windows 10 comes with a native tool to virtualize machine, called Hyper V. In this post we will see how to enable it and also how to configure it to run our first virtual machine.

Prerequisites

First of all, we must know that this feature is available only for Pro versions of windows, so if you are a user of a Home version, you can not run it. To verify which version of windows you use, press windows+R, type winver, and press enter.

On the other hand, we have to check if the processor supports the virtualization feature. Anyway, However, if we continue with the procedure and our processor does not support virtualization, then the installer will not let it continue.
