What is an APK File?
The Android Package (APK) is the package file format used by the Android, and several other Android-based operating systems for the distribution and installation of mobile applications, mobile games, and middleware. APK is analogous to other software packages such as APPX on Microsoft Windows or a Debian package on Debian based operating systems.
To begin with, we must locate the APK file in question. We can find many searching on the web, both apps that are available in the Play Store and others that are not. I recommend you always check the sources from which you download the APK files, to avoid being infected by malware. For example, you can download from APK Mirror or XDA Developers are very good options.
Enter the APK Mirror website. Find the APK you want to download. Then press SEE AVAILABLE APKS AND BUNDLES.
After that select, the most recent version available that is compatible with your device. Slide down and press DOWNLOAD APK. The download will start automatically.
Now open the APK file, you can do it from the browser or using a file explorer. In both cases, your device will ask you for permission to install from unknown sources.
Then press Settings and then press Allow from this source. Now go back and the installation wizard will appear, finally press INSTALL. That’s it.
