<p>Hello! We are all aware that the internet is a window to almost unlimited knowledge. In fact, the amount of information is very rich and varied. For that reason, it can be used for personal enrichment. However, there are also a lot of adult websites available. They contain pornographic content, drug, or alcohol sales. In short, nothing suitable for younger visitors. Therefore, it is very useful to have a tool to prohibit entrance to these sites. On the other hand, if you are an administrator of a company or a network, it is also advisable to limit these accesses. For this reason, we will teach you how to manage the router&#8217;s DNS to block access to adult content. Don&#8217;t worry, we will accompany you throughout the process. So let&#8217;s see how to block adult websites in all browsers.</p>

<h2>Determining the connection gateway in Windows 10</h2>

<p>The first step is to determine the IP address of the gateway. This is key, as it will allow access to the router&#8217;s settings. With this in mind, please press the Win+R combination and run CMD.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="399" height="206" src="//1081754738.rsc.cdn77.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu.png" alt="" class="wp-image-22658" srcset="https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu.png 399w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu-300x155.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 399px) 100vw, 399px" /><figcaption>Write CMD in the run box</figcaption></figure>

<p>Once there, please run the following command:</p>

<pre class="wp-block-preformatted">ipconfig</pre>

<p>Many values are immediately displayed. However, the one we are interested in is the Default Gateway. In my case, the value is <strong>192.168.1.1</strong>.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="375" src="//1081754738.rsc.cdn77.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu2-1024x375.png" alt="CMD showing the default gateway" class="wp-image-22677" srcset="https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu2-1024x375.png 1024w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu2-300x110.png 300w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu2-768x281.png 768w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu2-696x255.png 696w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu2-1068x391.png 1068w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu2.png 1280w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>CMD showing the default gateway</figcaption></figure>

<p>You must then paste that IP address into any web browser. Please note that you must know the router&#8217;s access credentials:</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="788" src="//1081754738.rsc.cdn77.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu3-1024x788.png" alt="Entering the router configuration" class="wp-image-22679" srcset="https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu3-1024x788.png 1024w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu3-300x231.png 300w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu3-768x591.png 768w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu3-696x536.png 696w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu3-1068x822.png 1068w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu3.png 1280w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Entering the router configuration</figcaption></figure>

<h2>Configuring the DNS with the values assigned by OpenDNS</h2>

<p>This time we will use the DNS values assigned by <a aria-label="undefined (opens in a new tab)" href="https://www.opendns.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">OpenDNS</a>. This provider blocks all content related to pornography. Besides, it&#8217;s free and easy to configure. The first thing you have to do is look for the configuration relative to LAN or WAN, depending on the model of the router. Well, the values you have to modify correspond to the First DNS Server and Secondary DNS Server. Then modify them like this:</p>

<p><strong>First DNS Server: 208.67.222.123 </strong></p>

<p><strong>Second DNS Server: 208.67.220.123</strong></p>

<p>Please press <strong>Apply</strong></p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="787" src="//1081754738.rsc.cdn77.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu4-1-1024x787.png" alt="" class="wp-image-22686" srcset="https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu4-1-1024x787.png 1024w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu4-1-300x231.png 300w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu4-1-768x590.png 768w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu4-1-696x535.png 696w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu4-1-1068x821.png 1068w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu4-1-80x60.png 80w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu4-1.png 1280w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Sets the new DNS values.</figcaption></figure>

<h2>Resetting the network connection in Windows 10</h2>

<p>After establishing the changes at the router level, it is necessary to restart the network connection in the system. With this in mind, please follow this path: <strong>Control Panel</strong>&gt;<strong>Network and Internet&gt;Network and Sharing Center</strong>&gt;<strong>Change Adaptor Settings</strong>. Then select the current connection. Please right-click and press <em>Disable.</em></p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="786" src="//1081754738.rsc.cdn77.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu5-1024x786.png" alt="Disable the connection." class="wp-image-22683" srcset="https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu5-1024x786.png 1024w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu5-300x230.png 300w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu5-768x590.png 768w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu5-696x535.png 696w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu5-1068x820.png 1068w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu5-80x60.png 80w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu5.png 1280w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Disable the connection.</figcaption></figure>

<p>After 5 five seconds, repeat the process but this time to enable the connection.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="819" src="//1081754738.rsc.cdn77.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu6-1024x819.png" alt="Please enable the connection" class="wp-image-22685" srcset="https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu6-1024x819.png 1024w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu6-300x240.png 300w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu6-768x614.png 768w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu6-696x557.png 696w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu6-1068x854.png 1068w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu6.png 1280w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Please enable the connection</figcaption></figure>

<p>Now when you try to enter any adult site, you will see the following warning:</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="787" src="//1081754738.rsc.cdn77.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu8-1024x787.png" alt="Access to adult pages, blocked by DNS" class="wp-image-22687" srcset="https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu8-1024x787.png 1024w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu8-300x231.png 300w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu8-768x590.png 768w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu8-696x535.png 696w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu8-1068x821.png 1068w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu8-80x60.png 80w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/adu8.png 1280w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Access to adult pages, blocked by DNS</figcaption></figure>
