How to increase icon size with Giga Icon

Giga Icon is an app that will allow you to create Widgets for the apps you use the most. Which you can resize to your liking. It is worth mentioning that it will not make any changes to the device’s interface, since it is not a launcher for Android.

Follow the steps below to increase the size of the icons using Giga Icon:

First step

Download and install the Giga Icon app by following the link below:

Second step

Then open the Giga Icon app.

Third step

After that, select the icon you want to make it look bigger. Next, tap on “Add to home screen”.

select the icon you want

Fourth step

The icon will look bigger, but you will be able to increase its size even more.

Giga Icon

When you return to the app, you will need to select the other icons you want to appear on the main screen. We recommend choosing the ones you use the most.

Last but not least, it should be noted that, for the moment, the icons do not show the name of any app, a shortcoming that could be solved in future updates. Thanks for reading. Goodbye!

Greetings friends! MIUI 14 has another feature that can help you save time. It’s about clearing the cache memory, but automatically so you don’t have to wait all the time. Xiaomi mobile devices are equipped with the Chinese manufacturer’s customization layer MIUI 14. Which retains many useful features such as focus mode. Useful tools intended for maintenance or the camera app for advanced photo management. But when we run out of storage space or our terminal slows down. The most logical thing to do is to delete the cache memory. What you may not know is that MIUI has the option to delete it automatically and avoid having to do it manually. In this post, we will show you how to clear the cache memory automatically in MIUI 14. So that your phone is always optimized.

This is how to activate the automatic cache deletion in Xiaomi

Like any other hidden function, we must navigate a bit through the MIUI 14 settings on our Xiaomi mobile. Specifically, This function is located within the battery section. It will seem somewhat strange since there is no direct relationship between cache and battery, but this is where Xiaomi has preferred to place it.

First step

Go to the “Settings” of your Xiaomi device.

Settings

Second step

Then swipe down and tap the “Battery” button. Once we enter that section, we will visualize the different performance modes, as well as the battery consumption generated by the various installed apps. But this is not what we are looking for anything, but you should pay attention to the gear-shaped button located in the upper right corner.

Battery

Third step

After that, press the gear-shaped button to go to the “lock screen settings”. In this section, you will be able to notice the function we are looking for.

lock screen settings

This function is named “Clear cache when the device is locked”. Select it to enable it, and you will be able to set different options: In 1, 5, 10, or 30 minutes, or the default choice “never”.

How to clear cache automatically in MIUI 14

What effect does it have on the system?

It’s pretty easy to define: when you lock your Xiaomi mobile device using the dedicated button for it. The system will automatically release the cache memory of the apps in the given time we have marked. It’s as simple as that. However, you should take into account that clearing the cache memory has some consequences: apps may take a little longer to open for the first time after unlocking. They may also offer less solid performance. It’s not a big deal, but it’s good to know. After a while, it will return to normal. This way, you won’t have to waste time releasing it every time we notice some strange behavior. As we can see, MIUI includes many useful secrets that you can take advantage of, and this one will save you time and effort.

Conclusion

Automatic cache clearing in MIUI 14 is a useful feature that allows you to optimize device performance and free up storage space. It is also possible to enable this feature from the security settings. As long as in the cleaning section you have enabled the automatic cleaning switch. This way, the system will delete unneeded temporary files every time the phone is turned off. This feature can help improve the user experience and avoid slow or crashing issues. Thank you for reading. Goodbye!

Greetings friends! Xiaomi plans to discontinue its Xiaomi Cloud services for your gallery items. Last year Xiaomi released a statement with the shocking news. Now we come to remind you about the closure of Xiaomi Cloud because there are only a few days left before the discontinuation of this service. So you’d better get ready and transfer all gallery items from Xiaomi Cloud to your device. In this post, we will show you how to download your photos from Xiaomi Cloud before it closes.

How to download the photos stored in the cloud to your Xiaomi device

The simplest option is probably to download the content stored in Xiaomi Cloud directly to your device. You can then decide whether to keep these files on your phone. You can also copy them to an external storage such as a PC. Or simply choose to upload them to different cloud storage. To do this process follow the steps below:

First step

Enter the following link from any browser and enter your Mi account details:

Xiaomi Cloud

Xiaomi Cloud

Second step

Then in the main menu look for the Gallery icon and click on it.

Gallery

Third step

After that, select the files you want to download. You can also do it individually. Finally, tap the download button. Now you just have to wait for the download to finish.

download

There is also a possibility that when you enter the gallery you will see a notice that Xiaomi Cloud services for your gallery files will be discontinued. In this case, it would be simpler, since you would only have to press the button that says start. This will generate a download link with all the stuff in your gallery. Finally, you would just have to click on that link and it would download all the content you have stored in the form of a compressed file.

Xiaomi Cloud will end its service for gallery photos and videos by the end of July

If you are a user of any Xiaomi device with access to Xiaomi Cloud. It is very likely that you recently received an email warning you that the synchronization of items in your gallery with the cloud will be discontinued soon. The Beijing company indicates that these specific Xiaomi Cloud services will be canceled as of July 31.

That is, not only will you not be able to upload, store and download images and videos to the Xiaomi Cloud. But you will also lose all gallery items that are stored in Xiaomi Cloud. This will not affect the other types of files that can be stored in Xiaomi Cloud. Only the gallery files, meaning you will still be able to make use of features such as find your Xiaomi.

Anyway, whatever the reason behind these events, the result is the same. The synchronization of your gallery files with the Xiaomi cloud will no longer be available. So the best thing you can do is to transfer your files as we have already taught you so as not to lose any of these. We hope you found the article interesting and if something was not clear to you, share it with us in the comments section. Thanks for reading. Goodbye!

Greetings friends! The latest version of MIUI is increasingly coming to most Xiaomi-branded devices. It has a few new features, but this time we want to tell you about a function that is hidden. It is a function that allows the user to disconnect from the distractions generated by notifications and applications on the phone. The goal is to facilitate concentration on tasks that require attention, such as study, work, or rest. In this post, we explain how to access the focus mode in MIUI 14.

What is the focus mode?

The focus mode in MIUI 14 is a hidden feature that allows you to block distractions from your smartphone and focus on a specific task. When the focus mode is enabled, your smartphone will only allow you to make emergency calls and use the camera. All other functions will be disabled until the timer expires. So you can concentrate on what matters without interruptions. The focus mode is similar to the one offered by Apple on iOS and can be very useful for studying, working, or meditating.

What is the Activity Launcher app?

Activity Launcher is an application that allows you to access the hidden activities of other applications installed on your device. An activity is a component of an application that performs a specific task, such as displaying a screen or running a service. Some activities are not designed to be launched directly by the user but are used internally by the application or by other applications. Activity Launcher allows you to view and launch these hidden activities, which can be useful for developers, advanced users, or curious people who want to explore the hidden functions of their favorite applications.

In this case, we will need to make use of Activity Launcher to access the focus mode of MIUI 14. Follow the steps below:

First step

Download and install the Activity Launcher app by following the link below:

Google Play | Activity Launcher

Second step

Then open Activity Launcher once you have installed it.

Activity Launcher

Third step

After that, tap on the “magnifying glass” icon.

tap on the “magnifying glass” icon

Fourth step

Next, in the text field enter the name of the following process: “UsageStatsMain” (Remember it must be without quotation marks as shown in the image)

Fifth step

Then you will see a single activity, tap on it to go to “Focus Mode”.

Focus Mode

Sixth step

Once you have accessed you will see that it is divided into 2 sections: Dashboard and Focus mode. In the first one, you will be able to see the time you have used your device with graphs by days and hours. In addition, you will have a list of the most used apps in this interval. You can even set a daily limit of screen hours after which you will receive a warning. Now you should tap on the focus mode, which is the one we are interested in.

Dashboard

Seventh step

Finally, you can set a period with a minimum of 20 minutes, or you can test the mode for just one minute. But keep in mind that you will only be able to make emergency calls and access the camera. All other functions will be disabled, so you can concentrate on the task you need to concentrate on during that period.

Focus Mode

Hello friends! If you have problems with your Xiaomi phone constantly turning on Bluetooth without your request. We have some solutions that can help you. We understand how frustrating it can be for you to know that certain functions on your phone are being performed without your consent. Not to mention that keeping Bluetooth on is not always a good idea. That’s why in this post we’ll walk you through the process of solving this problem.

Possible reasons

To more accurately determine your location, some location apps or apps like Instagram and Snapchat use Bluetooth search. This is a simple feature that allows your phone to connect to nearby devices. At a time when you want to better calculate your current location. For example, file transfer apps like “ShareMe” or “Nearby Share” often use Bluetooth and location to work. In most cases, Bluetooth scanning is the reason why many people complain about Bluetooth being turned on without their consent. Fortunately, this can be easily resolved. It is even possible that your phone is doing this without your knowledge because Bluetooth simply turns on during such a scan and then turns off.

Likewise, whether you notice it or not, if you don’t want this feature to continue, all you need to do, then perform the following steps to cancel the Bluetooth search activation:

First step

Go to your device’s Settings

Settings

Second step

Then go to the “Location” section(It is down in the settings list).

Location

Third step

After that, click on “Location Services”.

Location Services

Fourth step

Finally, go to the “Bluetooth Scanning” option, disable the option and you’re done.

Bluetooth Scanning

Check app permissions

In many cases, Bluetooth problems can start after installing a new app on your phone. So you should check the permissions granted to that app. If you are not sure which particular app may be causing the problem. The best thing to do is to access your phone’s general permissions. In the permissions section, you can decide how to deal with the problem. For example, if you think an app is suspicious, you can block its Bluetooth access. On the other hand, if you want apps to prompt you before changing the Bluetooth status, you can do so. You can also opt for a simpler option and limit it to all applications.

To enter the phone’s permissions manager and start this process, follow these steps:

First step

Go to Settings and go to the “Apps” section.

Apps

Second step

Then go to “Manage apps”.

Manage apps

There you will see a list of available gestures and the actions they perform by default. You can change the actions by clicking on the icon next to each gesture. A menu will open with the options you can choose for that gesture. For example, you can assign the swipe-up gesture from the bottom edge to open the camera, browser, voice assistant, etc.

You can also add more shortcuts per gesture by tapping on the “+” button at the bottom of the screen. A menu will open with the gestures that you have not yet assigned to any action. You can choose the gesture you want and then select the action you want it to perform.

A clear example is the “Double tap the fingerprint sensor” function. This function has extensive customization capabilities, with this custom quick gesture you can program the following options:

Take a screenshot

Turn on the flashlight

Display the Control Center

Display the Notification Bar

Launch Google Assistant

Open the camera

Open the Calculator

Activate silent mode

Get records related to the problem

Gesture shortcuts are a very convenient and fast way to use your Xiaomi phone. Besides, they can be customized according to each user’s preferences, which increases convenience and efficiency.
Hello folks! Each of the operating systems has its hidden tricks. For us users to get more out of the phone. , Xiaomi knows a lot because MIUI is a mobile interface with a lot of settings. That we can do so much to make the phone work more efficiently to get more out of the phone. And it is something that is maintained in MIUI 14. Now, there is a trick that is not secret or hidden. It’s the ability to use the Xiaomi browser to download videos from Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Even up to WhatsApp statuses. It’s relatively simple and that’s why in this post we tell you how you can do it with any Android phone.

Download videos using the Xiaomi browser

If you have or buy a Xiaomi phone, it will probably come with the Mi Browser preinstalled. It’s a fast and lightweight browser. You’ll probably end up swapping it out for Chrome, though. Which also comes installed and is usually the most classic option chosen by users. Another option is usually Microsoft Edge. However, we recommend that you do not delete this Xiaomi browser. Moreover, we invite you to download it on your Android phone. Even if it is not Xiaomi brand if you are looking to download videos.

Many times we are scrolling through Instagram or Twitter and we see a funny video. That we like or want to save for whatever reason. Either to have it in our gallery or to pass it to contact by Telegram or WhatsApp. No matter the reason, but often we turn to external applications or pages when the easiest thing to do is to take advantage of the Xiaomi browser. It’s that easy and this way you will manage to grow your video collection.

First step

In case you don’t have Mi Browser you can download it by following the link below:

Google Play | Mi Browser

Second step

Then open the Mi Browser app and tap the “Accept and continue” button.

Then open the Mi Browser app

Third step

After that, search for the video you want to download. You can do this by logging into your social networks and searching for the video manually. Another way would be to go to each app and copy the link of the video you want to download. Then you would just have to open that link in the My Browser.

search for the video you want to download

Fourth step

Next, tap the blue arrow icon. Then tap the download button. This will start the download.

Next, paste the link

Conclusion

The most common thing when we want to download a video from social networks. It is that we have to download an app. We may also go to a website that allows you to do so. But in case you have a Xiaomi phone. It is best to take advantage of the functions that are already integrated. In this case, the functions that come in the Mi Browser. This way you save time searching and installing a third-party app to get the same result. Thanks for reading. Goodbye!

Greetings friends! This time we will tell you about Pocket Mode. An add-on that can help you avoid making accidental calls when you are not using your cell phone. Surely you have seen that many manufacturers have a Pocket Mode option on the latest Android phones. In this post, we are going to show you how to activate pocket mode on your Android phone. Because, although it may not seem like it can be one of the most important features of Android, besides being quite useful. This option is present in custom versions of Android from many manufacturers. Also in the stock version of Android, it is most likely available on most mobile devices. With Pocket Mode, you will avoid accidental calls to other people and other misunderstandings that arise when you unintentionally touch the screen.

Getting to know Pocket Mode

Pocket Mode is a feature that uses your phone’s proximity sensor to prevent accidental activation of your phone while it is in your pocket.
When the phone is in your pocket depending on its position. Just your leg can accidentally activate the fingerprint reader. It can also be activated by double tapping to activate the screen. In case your phone is unlocked, you could accidentally send a text message or call. Depending on who the recipient is, it could be a bit embarrassing.
This can lead to awkward situations that are best avoided. So it’s one of the smartphone features worth knowing about.

How to enable Pocket Mode

Enabling Pocket Mode is as easy as enabling Bluetooth connectivity. As it can be enabled by simply opening your cell phone’s settings and searching for it in the search box or exploring the various settings categories. And depending on the manufacturer and level of customization, it can be found in different places. On some phones, it’s in the lock screen section.

In case you are a Xiaomi, Redmi, or POCO user. You can follow the below-detailed guide on how to enable the Pocket Mode option:

First step

To start with the primary thing is to access the Settings of your Xiaomi, Redmi, or POCO phone.

How to activate Pocket Mode on your Android phone

Second step

Then once you have entered the settings of your device you need to go to the “Display” section.

Display

Third step

After that, swipe down until you find the option of “Always on display & Lock screen” click on this option.

Always on display & Lock screen

Fourth step

Finally, all that’s left is to enable the option and you no longer have to worry about making accidental calls.

Pocket mode

Pocket mode is not always available

A few years ago, it was common for virtually all phones to customization of the Android system. They had this pocket mode among the settings. However, since we could verify the latest models of Poco and Redmi. This model is not available in the settings. Xiaomi may have discarded it because it started using ultrasonic proximity sensors. Which unfortunately are not as effective as traditional sensors.

Since we couldn’t activate it, we tried to recreate accidental touches with the phone in the pocket and there was no case because the phone didn’t turn on. Of course, we performed these tests with the “tap to turn on” feature active. As in MIUI double-tap on the screen to unlock. However, you might not trust your phone to prank you and end up accidentally calling or texting. So, one way to avoid this would be to always keep a screen lock and minimize the time the screen turns off when you’re not using it. Thanks for reading us. Goodbye!

Hello friends! It is possible to remove the most sensitive permissions to applications that do not need them. To thus protect your privacy to the maximum. Permissions management has been a particular section of Xiaomi phones. Even before Google bet on introducing this feature natively in Android. You could say that Xiaomi was a little ahead of the curve thanks to this feature. Right now, it has several sections to manage them. Within the MIUI settings, you can find a section intended for the so-called special permissions. In this post, we show you how to manage special permissions in MIUI. This way you can make your phone more secure and deny them to apps that you consider do not need them to perform their main function.

How to manage special permissions in Xiaomi

Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO phones share many of the settings and features offered by MIUI. Therefore special permissions are no exception. To access these just follow these steps:

First step

Open Settings.

Open Settings.

Second step

Then go to the “Privacy Protection” section.

Privacy Protection

Third step

After that, click on “Special permissions”. Once you open this section you will have access to the different permissions that the company catalogs as special and to which it gives greater importance, such as access to all files on the phone, which few or no applications should ask for.

Special permissions

Fourth step

Finally, you just have to examine each of the permissions to see which apps have them granted. This way you can decide whether to remove them or not, always thinking about protecting your privacy, which is the most important thing.

How to manage special permissions in MIUI

If you open the menu of the three dots at the bottom of the screen of each permission. You will be able to show the apps of the system and remove or grant them the permissions you deem necessary.

Authorization and revocation of usage data in MIUI

Another option that Xiaomi has is the authorization and revocation of usage data. Which will allow you to revoke permission to collect your usage data for some apps. We’ll show you how to take advantage of this option to restrict what your apps know about you. It is one of the most interesting security-related options that you can take advantage of in apps that you don’t use. You can revoke the permissions to collect usage data that you have granted to some apps on your Xiaomi phone. These are not conventional permissions that you will find in the settings section. Rather, they are found in a different section. Follow these steps:

First step

Open Settings.

Open Settings.

Second step

Then tap “Passwords & privacy”.

Third step

After that, tap on “Authorization & revocation”.

Fourth step

Finally, remove permissions from the apps you want.

remove permissions from the apps you want.

As you can see, the apps that appear in this section for you to grant or revoke their permissions are system apps. In many cases, you will not be able to use them if you do not grant them this permission, so you must choose well to which app you remove it.

This is an interesting option to remove permissions to system applications if you do not use them. Contributing to increasing your privacy in conjunction with the special permissions option. When you disable any switch, it will show you a warning that the data that has been previously collected will be deleted. And that the app in question will be rendered virtually unusable. Thanks for reading. Goodbye!

Hello friends! The Android mobile operating system has a large number of quick gestures. Which can come in handy and make things faster in your daily life. Whether it’s at work, studies, or just when you use your phone to play games or talk. In this post, we’ll show you some quick gestures to improve your Android experience. They will allow you to do things like quickly moving the cursor while typing on the keyboard. Also how to switch to floating window mode in any supported app. These quick gestures are a feature supported by virtually all Android phones. So most likely you can use all of them. Although there indeed are some reserved for newer versions of the operating system.

Switch from one application to another

To use this quick gesture you must have “gesture navigation” enabled.

You can activate it from Settings>additional settings>full screen. You can also use the settings browser.

gesture navigation

Then you will see a horizontal bar at the bottom that tells you where you have to perform the gestures. If you swipe from the left to the right of this bar, you will switch to the previous application.

gesture navigation

It is one of the best gestures that exist in Android, and they make multitasking very simple. Avoid wasting time opening the recent app’s view and then switching.

Switch between browser tabs

Another of the quick gestures that are usually already incorporated in both Google Chrome and other browsers. Swiping left or right by pressing on the address bar will switch to the next or previous tab. This trick is considerably useful when you are using several web pages at once and want to switch between them quickly. The best thing is that you can do it as many times as you want by scrolling through all your open tabs from start to finish.

Switch between browser tabs

Floating window mode when swiping

For some time now in recent versions of Android. Numerous applications support floating window mode. Which turns the application you are using into a small miniature window that you can move along the screen while using other applications.

Floating window mode

To activate this gesture just exit to the main screen, but you must drag your finger to the top of the screen. This way the app you are currently using will become a floating window that you can look at while using any other app.

Move the cursor in Gboard

One of the famous tricks of the Google keyboard is to slide your finger left or right on the space bar to move from one side to the other with the cursor.

Move the cursor in Gboard

This way, you can scroll left or right to correct the text you’ve typed or add something you’ve forgotten. It’s much more convenient than trying to position the cursor by tapping on the screen.

Screenshot with three fingers

If you want to make it as easy as possible to take screenshots on your phone or tablet. You should know that virtually all phones are compatible with this way of doing it.

You just need to place three fingers on the screen of your phone and slide them down to take the screenshot. On some phones and tablets, depending on the manufacturer, you may have to activate this option manually.

Screenshot with three fingers

On Xioami this option is enabled in Settings>Additional settings>Gesture shortcuts>take a screenshot.

Conclusion

It is not the same to use the latest version of Android 13 as an older one such as the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The way we interact with the interface has evolved and now makes use of many quick gestures that manage to improve the user experience. Many devices still use many traditional functions such as the navigation bar. That is why it is important to know the most current gestures. Thanks for reading. Bye bye!
