When it comes to speeding up your computer, there are many solutions before taking drastic measures. With this post, you will discover some programs that will help you to achieve it. Today, we suggest several programs to clean your Windows PC and speed up its performance. We already know that some computers tend to run slow if it has been a long time since you first used it, and you have not formatted it. This problem is also related to the amount of useless files that the operating system accumulates. These free programs for your Windows 11 computer will help you to optimize your PC.

Remember that it is useful if you usually have a lot of applications open or play some demanding titles. It is especially advisable to do a good periodic cleaning if you have an old or resource-constrained PC. Below, we name the seven best applications to optimize Windows 11. If you notice that your PC is running slow, these programs will help you solve those performance problems.

Apps to clean up and make Windows 11 run faster.

CCleaner

Piriform’s flagship program takes the first place in the ranking. It is undoubtedly the best free program for cleaning and speeding up a Windows PC. Although it has a premium version, the free version does everything you need.

With it, you can delete practically everything that is useless on your PC and operating system. From cookies to temporary files, through browsing history from Chrome and other browsers. In addition, it is very configurable, and you can choose what to clean and what not. Especially if you don’t want to keep files that are useful to you. You can download it directly from its website. It also works on other operating systems. Despite being marred by some privacy issues, it is still an excellent choice. A classic when it comes to optimize your pc.

BleachBit

Originally created for Linux, BleachBit is one of the best programs to speed up a Windows computer for several reasons. For starters, it doesn’t cost any money, which is important. It also has a simple and uncluttered interface. You practically only have to press one button to proceed with the cleaning.

It is lightweight, that is, it hardly consumes resources or space on your hard drive. Its retro look should not deceive you: it does its job perfectly, but without flashy additions as CCleaner and other applications to optimize Windows 11 can have. It is available on its web page, both for Windows in .exe format and in portable. In this second version, it is not necessary to install it, just run it with a double click.

Glary Utilities

This Windows app is well known worldwide as one of the main alternatives to CCleaner. Practically, it offers everything that its main rival does. However, it includes some extras when it comes to choosing which files you want to delete.

With Glary Utilities you can easily and quickly free up disk space. Even faster than any other program to clean and free up space on Windows. One of the additions is borrowed from CCleaner. We are talking about the option to disable the automatic startup of some applications when you turn on the PC.

Razer Cortex: Game Booster

If you are a regular PC gamer, you will undoubtedly be familiar with the name Razer. It is one of the leading brands in manufacturing peripherals for gaming computers.
To lend a hand to all those gamers who want to play good games on not so powerful PCs, they have a program to optimize Windows and its operation so that the game in question runs a little more smoothly.

It’s useful, and it really works. Although, if you don’t have the necessary requirements, it won’t be able to do much. It’s called Razer Cortex, and it’s available for free. Although it is focused on games, it also works to optimize your PC.

Wise Disk Cleaner

Halfway between Glary Utilities and BlechBit is Wise Disk Cleaner. With all the functions of the former, its interface is much more similar to the simplicity of the latter. Not bad if all you want is a program to clean and speed up your Windows PC without complications.

In just a few seconds, Wise Disk scans and tells you how much space you can free up on your computer. Then all you have to do is click and you’re done! Clean hard disk.

IObit Advanced SystemCare

IObit Advanced SystemCare is an application that has been on the market for a long time. In addition, it is able to optimize the computer for better performance. It has a free and paid version (Pro), which adds special maintenance functions for Windows 11 and a protection system for RAM memory, but having to pay money of course.

If we opt for the free version, we will have a real-time monitoring system of the computer. In addition to keeping track of excessive use of RAM, CPU and GPU, also at the time. It also controls threats such as spyware, suspicious browsing sessions. It also keeps a record of all registry entries for greater security.

PC OneSafe PC Cleaner

PC OneSafe PC Cleaner is a program that is able to maximize the performance of Windows, looking for everything that can be deleted to improve the fluidity of the device. For example, shortcuts of programs that do not exist. Also, application files that we have already deleted and that are not necessary.

There is a paid version which adds a duplicate file deletion system or the possibility of recovering deleted or damaged data. OK, this is the end of the list of the best tools to optimize your PC with Windows 11.

Hello! Windows 10 brings with it great improvements and new features. However, not everything is always positive, and we also have to deal with some unnecessary ones that only slow down our computer. If you are a Windows user, you will know that there are a multitude of tricks, keyboard shortcuts, hidden functions and experiences possible in each installed tool. In addition, with updates, it appears that there are always some interesting ones added. However, not everything is always pretty. Occasionally, Windows updates or upgrades bring bugs. Or they include unnecessary functions. Worst of all, they often only slow down our computer. Consequently, we are going to see some Services that you can disable to make Windows 10 run faster.

Deactivate the print manager.

We all know that we send something to print from our computer less and less frequently. We usually replace it with our cell phone. However, the print spooler is still running in the background. And what’s worse, consuming processing power. The steps to deactivate it are basic. Let’s see how to do it.

Press the Windows key + R.

Type services.msc and press Enter.

Scroll down and double-click Print Spooler.

Change the Startup Type to Disabled.

Click Apply.

On the Service Status tab, click Stop.

Accept and close the window.

Turn off the fax services.

Here is, the vast majority of us neither use nor have a fax machine. This type of service, despite having been very useful, is now obsolete. If it is something that you are not going to need in the short term, you can deactivate it without problems following these steps (very similar to the previous ones):

Hold down the Windows key + R.

Type services.msc and press Enter.

Scroll down and double-click Fax (sorted alphabetically).

Change the Startup Type to Disabled.

Click Apply.

On the Service Status tab, click Stop.

Accept and close the window

Touch keyboard and writing pad services.

We came across this feature which is really not useful at all. The touch keyboard creates an interactive keyboard on the screen with which you can write. The handwriting panel allows you to write with a stylus and your normal and writing. It is true that it may be necessary for someone. However, not for the vast majority. So if you are one of these, know that they rob processing power from the things you actually use. How to disable the touch keyboard and the handwriting panel. It is a bit more complex, but following the steps to the letter is elementary:

Type Easy Access Keyboard in the search bar next to the Windows button.

Select Easy Access Keyboard Settings.

Slide the switch under Use device without physical keyboard to the left to disable it.

Alternatively, type Handwritten input in the search bar next to the Windows button.

Select Settings from the Handwriting input panel.

Uncheck the Write in the handwriting input panel with your fingertip box.

Deactivate Bluetooth

This is a similar case because normally the Bluetooth is connected from the mobile and not with the computer. It can be the use of lights, loudspeaker…etc. Disabling it will give it a big boost. Consequently, Here is how to deactivate Bluetooth:

Click on the Windows button.

Go to Settings.

Click on Devices.

In the Bluetooth and other devices section, swipe left on Bluetooth to disable it.

Terminate remote desktop services

Finally, we are dealing with one of the biggest threats to your system’s security. This function allows someone in another location to take control of your computer and manage it completely remotely. It exists to allow Microsoft technical support to help you if you have a problem. But just like they get in, almost anyone can get in. How to disable remote desktop services:

Type Remote Configuration in the search bar next to the Windows button.

Select Remote Desktop Configuration.

Toggle the switch to OFF.

These are just five services that, except for the printer, you almost certainly do not use. That is why it would be optimal to save you these processes and give your computer a little push to perform the necessary tasks in a more effective way. It is also true that this will not solve 100% of your slowness issues. They are just small tips that certainly improve, but do not fix something that may already depend on other factors. In short, we have seen some services that you can disable to make Windows 10 run faster.

Microsoft tries to offer the best possible update experience within its ecosystem. The difficulty is that it may reach a point where its servers are completely saturated. Especially due to the large number of requests that are received. In this case, the company tries to alleviate them by making use of your computer and that of other users.

In short, it is a constant background process that will sacrifice bandwidth. This is logical because update files are constantly being uploaded from your computer. To share them with other users. Therefore, you can disable it to avoid compromising your information by following these steps:

Open Windows Settings by pressing the Windows key + I.

Click on Update & Security.

Go to Delivery Optimization.

Disable the Allow downloads from other PCs option.

In short, one of the main actions to improve Windows performance.

Deactivate Cortana on Windows

Cortana is one of the monitoring ways that Windows 10 has to know at all times what you are typing. He even spies on what we are talking about. This is because it wants to learn from you to offer the best personalization in all responses. But this makes it advisable to disable it. Indeed, it also doesn’t offer great features that are vital for day-to-day life. To disable it, you will simply have to do:

Press the combination Windows + I to access Windows Settings.

Go to Privacy.

Go to Inking & Typing personalization

Click on the switch to deactivate this option.

It is undoubtedly a good step to improve Windows performance.

Put an end to annoying notifications

Windows 10 integrates a notification center that seeks at all times to keep you up to date with what is happening in your favorite applications. For example, the mail or the calendar:

Open Windows Settings by pressing Windows + I.

Go to System.

Select Notifications & actions.

It reviews all the list of notifications that exist. Uncheck those that directly you are not interested in receiving, for example the tricks or recommendations of Windows.

Stop receiving personalized ads

As it happens when surfing the Internet, when using Windows 10, all the behavior of use is registered through a unique advertising identification. This makes that all the advertisements that come to you are completely personalized. However, the problem is that this digital footprint does not remain only on Microsoft’s servers. Indeed, it ends up in the hands of other companies as well.

The issue is that advertising cannot be completely deactivated, but only partially deactivated. However, if you want to have more control over your information, you can follow these steps:

Go to Windows Settings.

Go to the Privacy section.

Click on General.

Uncheck the first option dedicated to the Advertising ID to reset it.

Remove ads in the start menu

Advertising is almost everywhere in the operating system, including the start menu. In this one, it is possible to show some advertisement due to the default settings. Even if it is exclusively from the Microsoft Store or third parties. To remove even this, you are going to have to follow the steps below:

Go to Windows Settings.
Go to the Personalization section.

Now go to Start.

Disable the switch next to Show suggestions occasionally in Startup.

Prevents background applications

Background applications are constantly working. Even if you are not using them in a main window. This is consuming valuable CPU, RAM, or GPU resources. That’s why it can be important to disable all these processes that are running without you having full control.

Open Windows Settings.

Go to Privacy.

Go to Background Apps.

Completely disable this feature in the first switch.

Prevents constant synchronization

Windows as an operating system are constantly working on synchronizing settings, passwords, or history of everything you are viewing. These are wasted resources. Moreover, they are not used to perform other processes. Therefore, it is advisable to remove them completely.

Open Windows Settings.

Go to Accounts.

Click on Synchronization settings.

Remove permissions to those processes that you do not want to be synchronized.

Hello! Surely, more than once, we have tinkered with our Windows PC. As a result, we have disabled some important function for the proper development of this, and we have not even noticed. Or maybe we have, but we have considered that it was not very relevant. Well, you could be damaging it to the point of not working anymore. Indeed, there are many Windows settings and processes essential for the proper functioning of the operating system. Therefore, disabling them may cause your operating system to stop or even destabilize to the point of having to reinstall it. Consequently, here are some actions that are detrimental to Windows performance.

Adjust the Registry Editor. Do not fiddle with it.

Occasionally, we need to modify the Windows Registry keys to disable a particular setting. We even use it to make software work better or to resolve a problem. It can certainly help to solve serious problems. However, this is almost a no-go area for most users. Indeed, we should avoid accessing it at all costs unless absolutely necessary.

An erroneous registry setting may slow down your computer’s performance. It could also compromise cybersecurity, alter drivers or restrict access to frequently used functions. It may even require a reinstallation of the operating system as a final solution.

Disable Windows automatic updates

Be careful with this point because it is very common among users. We emphasize that Windows updates are necessary to access the new features introduced by Microsoft. Similarly, it works to speed up the performance of the operating system and make it error-proof so that no malware can get into the system.

Disabling Windows automatic updates would cause great harm. Indeed, certain effects appear in the system. Such as stability problems, a drop in performance, and antivirus warnings about frequent malware attacks. Moreover, the magnitude of these inconveniences intensify if you leave the update disabled for a long time.

Disabling the Microsoft Defender firewall

Microsoft Defender Firewall makes it easy to block unauthorized access through Windows. To this end, the program detects malware before it enters your computer. Consequently, it immediately blocks infected files or puts you on notice. By disabling it, you would be letting viruses take control and run wild. This puts your data at risk and compromises your security and privacy. Therefore, keep it on at all costs.

Executing commands from untrusted sources at the command prompt

The processes you run in the application will have access to all Windows files. Remember that these files are normally unreachable. Therefore, executing commands from untrusted sources without knowing what they do can definitely get you into trouble.

We want to be very empathetic about this. The consequences could be severe indeed. We are talking about wiping hard drives, deleting your user account, rebooting your computer and even permanently disabling the Internet on your device. In addition, you cannot undo all the changes you have made. So remember, stay away from unclear commands from unreliable sources. In short, this can be one of the most detrimental actions to Windows performance.

Disabling necessary operating system processes and deleting Windows files

You should never delete or disable critical Windows files and processes. Deleting or disabling them could cause your operating system to crash completely, forcing you to reinstall it. It seems unbelievable that we have to make this clarification. However, it is a mistake that is more common than you might think.

Be sure to check the Windows files and folders that you should never touch to learn more. Similarly, you should be careful before disabling processes in Windows Task Manager. Never disable a process you don’t know about, even to free up some CPU, memory or network resources.

Installing programs from unreliable sources

Finally, let’s get to the icing on the cake. In fact, this is one of the most common mistakes made by users. Programs and applications installed from unreliable sources carry viruses and pass them on to the computer in almost 100% of cases. We certainly count on the protection of Windows Defender. This mechanism usually catches most of them when you try to install them. However, there are times when they manage to evade them.

Therefore, the solution is simple. In fact, always download files from trusted websites and confirm that the files are safe before clicking on the download button. Moreover, if your Firewall or antivirus warns you of a possible threat, remove the possibility of installing it from your mind. However, mistakes do happen. So, if, despite the warnings, you install something of dubious origin. Or if you delete something relatively important from your operating system, then we strongly recommend that you make a backup copy.

On the other hand, you should back up your Windows files regularly. This way you keep yourself safe from possible disasters. So if you damage Windows and lose the restore point, you still have access to your files.

Make every effort to avoid doing any of the prohibited things listed above. And if something does happen, back up your data beforehand and go back to that previous point. Okay, so we have seen some actions that are detrimental to the performance of Windows 10. Therefore, we recommend that you do not make the mistakes described here. See you later!

Hello! Microsoft has previously incorporated a new power plan. Specifically, in April 2018 Update, Windows started to feature a plan called Ultimate Performance. Which is intended to get the most out of the system performance on laptops. Consequently, this plan is only available for portable devices. Its main function is to get the maximum performance from the device. Certainly, there used to be a similar plan known as High Performance. However, the benefits of this new provision are even better. Read on to find out how to get more out of your laptop with Ultimate Performance mode.

How to enable the ultimate performance plan in Windows 10.

Obviously, you will not feel much difference in your daily activities. However, if you use a video editing or design program, you will notice a difference. Well, normally this plan is next to the other energy options. However, it may not appear at first glance. If so, follow the steps below. First, you have to open PowerShell with administrator privileges. With this in mind, press the Win+X combination. Next, select the corresponding option.

Next, you have to copy and execute the following command:

Before we go any further, there is something you should know. And that is that you will have higher performance, but also uh higher battery consumption. This is logical since we are asking the system to focus on performance and power. Without taking into account other aspects of the system. Well, to activate it let’s follow these simple steps:

The first thing you have to do is to enter Windows Settings.
Hello! Windows 10 is a very complete system. Indeed, part of its effectiveness is due to the fact that it performs activities without the user knowing. One of them is the automatic maintenance of the system. This task is done daily, but can be disabled. However, this is not a recommended action. However, we want to give you the option of complete control over your system. So today we will see how to disable automatic maintenance in Windows 10.

What is the automatic maintenance?

It is a system activity that takes care of a series of tasks in Windows 10. In addition, these activities are not noticed by the user. For example, install app updates, perform disk cleanups and many other possibilities. As mentioned, these are unattended tasks. That is, they are performed automatically without the user’s intervention. In addition, they are simple tasks that hardly consume system resources. Therefore, it is very likely that the computer will not be affected by their performance.

As you can see, these are essential tasks that should not be deactivated. However, more modest equipment could see their functionality affected. In those cases, it is convenient to deactivate the automatic maintenance.

How to modify the time of the automatic maintenance in Windows 10

As mentioned, these tasks should always be active. However, in low power equipment it can cause problems. In any case, the first option we propose is to modify the time of maintenance. With this in mind enter the control panel. Once there click on System and Security.

Please go to security and maintenance.

In the next window please click on Security and Maintenance.

Now you have to deploy the control in Maintenance. Then, click on change the Maintenance settings.

Please change the maintenance settings.

Then you only have to set the maintenance of the computer at the time of preference.

Please select the time for automatic maintenance

How to disable automatic maintenance in Windows 10

There is no section in Windows to disable this task. On the contrary, it is necessary to edit the Windows registry. As always, we recommend making a registry backup before proceeding. Well, press the Win+R combination and run the command: regedit.

Then, go to this path:

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Schedule\Maintenance

Now click on the key located on the right.

Enter the Windows Registry Editor

Then, assign the number 1 to the value. Please close the editor and restart the computer.

Set the value of the key to 1

This way we have seen how to disable the automatic maintenance in Windows 10. As mentioned, it is not something we recommend doing. However, according to the computer you could use it sometime. Bye!
