<p>Hello! We certainly use computers for many tasks. Therefore, the number of tasks we do with them is increasing all the time. Indeed, it is an indispensable element in many jobs. However, we are not free from having problems from time to time on our computers. It is possible that sometimes the touch keyboard appears on the Windows 10 startup screen, i.e., behaving like a touchscreen computer. And worst of all, it is likely that we have not voluntarily activated this option to access the system. Undoubtedly, a setback. That&#8217;s why today we will show you how to disable the on-screen keyboard in Windows 10.</p>

<h2>How to disable on-screen keyboard in Windows 10 with Control Panel</h2>

<p>To be honest, the touch keyboard can get us out of a jam when the physical keyboard doesn&#8217;t work. Even more so if we do not have a spare keyboard. However, we may activate it accidentally. As a result, we will have a nuisance on the screen. Therefore, knowing how to remove the keyboard from the screen is useful in these cases. </p>

<p>Fortunately, there are several methods to do so. Kindly note that there are numerous reasons for the system to behave abnormally. Sporadically, a scan of the computer is not enough. Consequently, today we will focus on one factor that can cause malfunctions. We are talking about the on-screen keyboard in Windows 10. This should be a normal option on touch devices. However, its presence in classic computers is not justified, beyond specific cases. On the contrary, its appearance on the start screen is a nuisance. But don&#8217;t worry, today we will see how to get rid of it.</p>

<p>Many times this Windows malfunction is caused by the configuration of the <strong>Ease of access.</strong> Well, one of the ways to solve this is through the Control Panel. With this in mind, press the Win+R combination and add the term Control Panel to launch it.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="788" height="682" src="https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/mouse.png" alt="Launching the control panel" class="wp-image-33675" srcset="https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/mouse.png 788w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/mouse-300x260.png 300w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/mouse-768x665.png 768w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/mouse-696x602.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 788px) 100vw, 788px" /><figcaption>Launching the control panel</figcaption></figure>

<p>Once you are there, please click on <strong>Ease of Access.</strong></p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="457" src="https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/mouse2-1024x457.png" alt="Control Panel&gt;Ease of Access" class="wp-image-33677" srcset="https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/mouse2-1024x457.png 1024w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/mouse2-300x134.png 300w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/mouse2-768x343.png 768w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/mouse2-696x310.png 696w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/mouse2-1068x476.png 1068w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/mouse2.png 1280w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Control Panel&gt;Ease of Access</figcaption></figure>

<h2>How to disable Windows 10 Mouse</h2>

<p>In addition, you can also disable the touch mouse operation as well. Certainly, a malfunction of this can be as annoying as the on-screen keyboard. There are several ways to do this: through the device manager, using third-party applications, and through the BIOS. However, we are going to use a method through the CMD. With this intention, enter CMD in the search bar. I would like to point out that you have to run it with administrator privileges.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="784" height="679" src="https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/mouse13.png" alt="Running a CMD ad administrator" class="wp-image-33690" srcset="https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/mouse13.png 784w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/mouse13-300x260.png 300w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/mouse13-768x665.png 768w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/mouse13-696x603.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 784px) 100vw, 784px" /><figcaption>Running a CMD ad administrator</figcaption></figure>

<p>Then we are going to run the following key combination to deactivate Windows 10 touch keyboard:</p>

<pre class="wp-block-preformatted">sc config “TabletInputService” start= disabled
sc stop “TabletInputService”</pre>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="979" height="512" src="https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/mouse14.png" alt="Disabling the touch mouse via CMD" class="wp-image-33692" srcset="https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/mouse14.png 979w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/mouse14-300x157.png 300w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/mouse14-768x402.png 768w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/mouse14-696x364.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 979px) 100vw, 979px" /><figcaption>Disabling the touch mouse via CMD</figcaption></figure>

<p>If you want to re-enable the services related to the Windows 10 on-screen keyboard, run the following commands:</p>

<pre class="wp-block-preformatted">sc config “TabletInputService” start= auto
sc start “TabletInputService”</pre>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="979" height="512" src="https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/mouse15.png" alt="" class="wp-image-33694" srcset="https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/mouse15.png 979w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/mouse15-300x157.png 300w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/mouse15-768x402.png 768w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/mouse15-696x364.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 979px) 100vw, 979px" /><figcaption>Reactivating the on-screen touch mouse via CMD</figcaption></figure>

<h2>Conclusion</h2>

<p>Using any of these methods, we can disable the on-screen keyboard option when we log in Windows 10. This way, we will have a cleaner and more comfortable desktop to work with. It is worth noting that this option has most likely been activated accidentally. However, it is still an inconvenient circumstance for the user. Since this on-screen keyboard option makes a lot of sense on touch devices. Even on regular devices, it can be very useful. Personally, it has gotten me out of a bind when the physical keyboard has failed. However, nothing beats having complete control over the system and its behavior. That has been the intention of this tutorial. Simply to give you several ways to solve this problem. Okay, that&#8217;s all for now.
