Let’s be honest. Currently, all eyes are on Windows 11. Therefore, our beloved Windows 10 is relegated. But let’s remember that it still has some time left until 2025. Therefore, Microsoft continues with the proposed roadmap. Therefore, the guys from Redmond have announced the name of the Fall update. Indeed, it will be called Windows 10 November 2021 Update or what is the same, Windows 21H2. So, we don’t have to wait much longer, Windows 10 November 2021 Update is here.

Windows 10 November 2021 is ready for download

By the way, this update is now available via ISO. Also, this build 19044.1288 will be the final build for the November 2021 update. So, it will be offered as an optional update in Windows Update. On the other hand, this update has followed the regular path. Currently, only insiders can download the ISO. However, it will soon be available for all other users. Specifically for those who did not meet the requirements to upgrade to Windows 11.

So far, Windows 10 Insiders on version 21H1 (or lower) could try to download the update. With this in mind, they only had to go to the Windows Update section. However, now everyone can do a clean installation via ISO build 19044.1288.

Some new features of this update

This update is oriented to companies that cannot or do not want to make the leap to Windows 11. Therefore, there are not many new features.

Added support for WPA3 H2E standards for enhanced Wi-Fi security.

Windows Hello for Business now supports simplified passwordless deployment models. As a result, usage times are improved.

GPU computing support in Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) and Azure IoT Edge for Linux on Windows (EFLOW) implementations. This impacts machine learning and other processing-intensive workflows.

So, Windows 10 November 2021 Update is here. For now, there is no exact date for the rollout to regular users. However, with this news, it is clear that it won’t be long. Specifically, we would be talking about the months of November and December. Bye!

Please confirm and download the ISO.

Windows 11 ISO ready for download

Check out the different Insider channels.

Microsoft has issued a warning to users of the Dev channel. In fact, they say that it is advisable to switch to the Beta channel. Remember that there are different channels within the Insider Program. So each one offers different degrees of stability. So it’s time to define whether you prefer novelty or stability. All right, we’ve seen How to officially test Windows 11 today. So you have access to an official version of Windows 11 released by Microsoft. So what are you waiting for! Start testing it in a virtual machine. Since let’s remember that these are preliminary versions not free of problems. So it is not safe to use them as a daily use system. Good bye!

In the previous post we talked about the Windows Insider program. Also about the positive and negative aspects of being an Insider. As we said, the soul of this program is the community of users. They are in charge of testing the beta versions of the updates.

Insiders report errors they find in the Windows Insider program. They also give their opinions. Specifically, the community verifies the features tested during the betas. Therefore, users contribute to the development of new features. The builds are called Insider Previews.

In fact, being part of Windows Insider is very simple. Want to help improve Windows 10? Then follow these steps to belong to the Windows Insider program.

Being an Insider: how to be part of the Windows Insider program?

To be a Windows Insider, we must first go to “Settings”. The “Settings” button is on the start menu. There we click on “Updates and Security”. In this section you can manage the updates.

The “configuration” window. Here you can find the “updates and security” option

Then select the “Windows Insiders Programme” option towards the end of the left sidebar. The “Get Started” button is under the Windows Insiders presentation. We will click on it.

Managing the Windows Insiders Programme

Afterwards, a dialog box will appear on the screen. The window will ask you to link your outlook or hotmail account. So then, with this account you enter Windows Insiders. Consequently, you select the account you will use and configure it as necessary.

Configuration the outlook or hotmail account to log in to Windows Insider.

Selecting the type of account to use to login to Windows Insider

After setting up the account, you can choose the ring you want to receive updates from. Three options will be presented:

Slow ring: This is the recommended ring. In addition, in this one you will receive less periodic updates. However, there is less risk.

Fast ring: In this ring you will receive more periodic updates. Additionally, you can preview first hand what’s new. However, there is a higher risk.

Release Preview: Here you receive the versions previous to the official release. This is the ring that receives less updates. But, It is also the most stable.

Configuration of the ring types to receive updates

In concluding, Windows presents the program agreement and the privacy statement. Here they tell us how Windows will collect our data to recognize errors. We will press “Confirm”.

Presentation of the program agreement and the privacy statement

Finally, Windows thanks us for participating in the Windows Insider program. Consequently, it gives us the option to reboot the computer at the moment or later. After rebooting, we will start receiving updates. This way, we will officially be a Windows Insider.

Windows appreciates the participation in the program and gives options to restart the computer

Conclusion

After rebooting you can enter the Windows Insider Program option again. Here you can choose to stop receiving updates to stop belonging to the program. You can also change the type of updates you want to receive. This starts the adventure of being a member of the Windows Insider Program. This way, we will officially be a Windows Insider.

Windows Insider is a program from Microsoft to assist with system updates. Users who have signed up for the program enjoy free updates made by the programmers. Before they reach ordinary users. This in exchange for helping to develop new features for Windows 10.

Pros of being a Windows Insider

Besides collaborating with the development and improvement of Windows 10. Among the positive features of being part of Windows Insider are

Having official free Windows 10: Certainly not with the final versions, but with the trial versions. However, in the last rings the risks are minimal. Since most of the errors have already been corrected. And, in fact, you will have the free Windows as long as you use the Insider Previews only.

Enjoy the new features first before they are shown to others: New features arrive in the rings months before they are officially released. The faster and more unstable the ring, the faster and more you will receive updates.

Choose the level of stability or ring. Windows Insider is divided into 6 rings. The first 3 rings are available to Windows developers. The last 3 rings for Windows Insider users. The lower the stability of the ring, the more updates or builds you will have. The rings are:

Canary Ring: Here the Windows developers propose and test for the first time the updates.

Windows and Devices Group Ring: Here are the approved updates in the Canary Ring.

Microsoft Ring: Here comes the approved updates in the Windows and Devices Group Ring. In this ring both developers and other Microsoft workers can approve the updates.

Quick Ring: This is the first public ring for Insiders. Here come the beta versions of the next updates. It is the most unstable and the highest moving level. Because the versions probably have a lot of bugs or errors.

Slow Ring: Here are the most stable updates after passing the Fast Ring.

Release Preview: This is the point before the release of the updates. It’s the most stable ring with the least movement. Because the errors in the updates must have been corrected when you got here.
