<p>Windows introduced its Creators Update (1703) version in the first week of 2017. Indeed, it came with many innovations. For example, Paint 3D. Which was designated successor to the classic Windows image editor. Thus, Microsoft tried to relegate the old Microsoft Paint. To do so, it made use of many resources. Often irritating. It is well known that the system has content libraries: Downloads, Documents, Videos, Music, etc. Well, there, you can see a folder called 3D Objects. And most probably you have never used it. Well, you will be happy to know that Windows 10 will hide the 3D Objects folder.</p>

<h2>What is the 3D Objects folder?</h2>

<p>This folder is used to save the projects developed in Paint 3D. It is an interesting tool that allows you to create three-dimensional elements and figures from scratch. Or even convert a photo into 3D. In addition to many other functions. However, even if you do not use this application, the folder will always appear in the recent items. What&#8217;s worse, there is no easy way to remove it. Since it is necessary to edit the Windows registry. Therefore, deleting the 3D Objects folder is not available for most users.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="787" src="//1081754738.rsc.cdn77.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/3d-1024x787.png" alt="3D Objects folder in the file explorer. " class="wp-image-28826" srcset="https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/3d-1024x787.png 1024w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/3d-300x231.png 300w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/3d-768x590.png 768w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/3d-696x535.png 696w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/3d-1068x821.png 1068w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/3d.png 1280w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>3D Objects folder in the file explorer.</figcaption></figure>

<h2>The next Windows 10 update will hide the 3D Objects folder.</h2>

<p>However, this will change with the next major update of Windows 10. With the arrival of Sun Valley, there will be substantial changes in the Windows interface. We have previously told you about the big changes to come. For example, the <a href="https://www.osradar.com/windows-10-sun-valley-could-include-a-completely-revamped-start-menu/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Start menu.</a> In addition, the file explorer will receive a cleaner and neater interface. Therefore, the 3D Objects folder will be hidden by default. However, there will still be ways to access it:</p>

<ul><li>By copying the following address in the file explorer:</li></ul>

<pre class="wp-block-preformatted"><em>C:\Users[User´s name]\Objects 3D</em>'</pre>

<ul><li>Follow the next path in the file explorer: <strong>View>Navigation Panel>Show all folders.</strong></li><li>Showing all folders associated with the user. With this in mind, simply paste the following into the file explorer bar:<strong>%userprofile%</strong> </li></ul>

<p>Finally, Windows 10 will hide the 3D Objects folder. Finally, <a href="https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Windows 10 will </a>hide the 3D Objects folder. This change will be seen with the arrival of Windows 10 21H2. In addition, changes are expected regarding Bluetooth notification and synchronization with the clipboard cloud. Bye!</p>

<p>Hi, how are you? Today we will continue to see how to customize the graphical aspect of Windows 10. Specifically, the folders. Personally, I love giving a personal touch to the devices I use. This includes themes, wallpaper, <a href="https://windowsmen.com/how-to-customize-the-mouse-pointer-and-cursor-in-windows-10/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="mouse pointer (opens in a new tab)">mouse pointer</a> and of course, folders. Also, customizing a folder makes it easier to locate it. Well, in this post we will detail the process to customize the look of the folders in Windows 10.</p>

<h2>How to change the color of the folders.</h2>

<p>For a simple modification, just change the color of the folder. Unfortunately, Windows 10 does not allow you to make this modification natively. But don&#8217;t worry, I recommend the <a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="Folder Painter (opens in a new tab)" href="https://www.sordum.org/10124/folder-painter-v1-2/" target="_blank">Folder Painter</a> application. This is a third party, free program that changes the color of the folders in Windows 10. It also integrates perfectly into the context menu. Well, once you&#8217;ve downloaded and decompressed the file, you just have to run it. Then click on <em>Install</em> to add the option to the context menu.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://windowsmen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/folder.png" alt="Add the option to the context menu." class="wp-image-950"/><figcaption>Add the option to the context menu.</figcaption></figure>

<p>Once the option is added to the context menu, just right click on the selected folder. From this moment you can choose the color of the folder, keep the Windows icon or open the program preferences.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://windowsmen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/folder2.png" alt="Customize the folder options." class="wp-image-951"/><figcaption>Customize the folder options.</figcaption></figure>

<p>After accepting the changes you can see the folder with the new color.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://windowsmen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/folder3.png" alt="Audio folder with new color" class="wp-image-953"/><figcaption>Audio folder with new color</figcaption></figure>

<h2>Change the folder icon.</h2>

<p>The newly installed application has the option to change the default Windows icon. Just add the corresponding icon package and then install it.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://windowsmen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/folder4.png" alt="Adding the icons to modify the folder" class="wp-image-955"/><figcaption>Adding the icons to modify the folder</figcaption></figure>

<p>Thereupon, When you right click on the folder, you will see the option to change the icon.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://windowsmen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/folder5.png" alt="Changing the folder icon." class="wp-image-957"/><figcaption>Changing the folder icon.</figcaption></figure>

<p>The folder icon is then updated with the new icon.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://windowsmen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/folder6.png" alt="Updated folder icon." class="wp-image-959"/><figcaption>Updated folder icon.</figcaption></figure>

<h2>Changing the folder icon from Windows</h2>

<p>On the other hand, it is possible to perform the procedure using Windows 10 itself. With this intention, enter the Windows Explorer by pressing the Win+E combination. Then select the folder and enter the properties by right clicking on it.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://windowsmen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/folder7.png" alt="Go to the folder properties." class="wp-image-961"/><figcaption>Go to the folder properties.</figcaption></figure>

<p>Then go to the <strong>Personalization</strong> tab. And from there click on <em>Change icon </em></p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://windowsmen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/folder8.png" alt="From the properties, change the icon." class="wp-image-962"/><figcaption>From the properties, change the icon.</figcaption></figure>

<p>A window with the available icons will be displayed immediately. You just have to choose any of them. Also, if the list is not enough for you, you can browse to select any icon you have downloaded.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://windowsmen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/folder9.png" alt="" class="wp-image-964"/><figcaption>Assigns a new icon to the folder. </figcaption></figure>

<p>Back to the file browser, the folder icon will now be updated.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://windowsmen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/folder10.png" alt="Updated folder icon." class="wp-image-965" width="610" height="439"/><figcaption>Updated folder icon.</figcaption></figure>

<h2>Conclusion</h2>

<p>In the final analysis we have seen how to customize the look of the folders in Windows 10. This allows you to organize the folders by color to facilitate the organization. In addition, fans of personalization will love it. All right, that&#8217;s it for now. Bye</p>
