Hello! Privacy is a fundamental aspect in any area of life. This fact becomes more relevant at the computer level. Since more and more time is spent using it. For this reason, it is very likely that you keep personal and work items on your hard drive. In any case, it is always advisable to keep this data out of the reach of curious people. Now, Windows offers methods to limit the access to folders of certain users. However, these are steps that require some knowledge on the part of the users. Consequently, today we will see a visual procedure that allows almost completely hiding a folder. And by moving it to a hidden location, it makes access as difficult as possible. Today we will see how to create invisible folders in Windows 10.

Learn how to hide the folder easily

As mentioned, the change concerns the appearance of the folder. This will make it practically invisible. In fact, all you have to do is modify the main icon. Then replace it with one of the icons provided by the system. With this in mind, right-click on the folder to enter Properties.

Go to folder properties

The properties window will be displayed immediately. If you have used Windows since previous versions, then you will be familiar with this environment. The first thing you have to do is click on the Customization tab. And then click on Change Icon.

Proceed to change the folder icon

We have reached the central point of the tutorial. Since the wizard shows a list of available icons. Well, just select a blank icon. That is, transparent looking. To do this, just select the blank space between the icons. As shown in the image below.

Selecting the transparent icon to make the folder invisible.

Please note that when you click on the white space, it will turn blue. So press OK to return to the properties window. Finally, press OK to set the changes.

Back to the folder location, you can see the established change.

Folder looking invisible on the Windows 10 desktop

Ultimately we have seen how to create invisible folders in Windows 10. Or move it to a location that is difficult to access. Then you can increase the privacy control of your content. All right, that’s it for now. Before I say goodbye I invite you to see our post about how to add a Gmail account to Windows 10.
Hello! Without a doubt the time of use of electronic devices has increased lately. Indeed, with the limitations imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, people are turning to cell phones and computers. For this reason, it is necessary to protect some sensitive aspects, such as privacy. It is well known that Microsoft is known to have a very aggressive policy in this regard. They have even been accused many times of supposedly accessing users’ private data. So it is necessary to be able to control these aspects in the system. For this, Windows itself provides methods to access the security settings. However, sometimes it is not easy to access. So today we will use an app that allows to easily control the privacy in the system. We are talking about Privatezilla, an app that allows you to increase privacy in Windows 10.

Privatezilla, a great option to improve privacy in Windows 10.

Privatezilla is a free, open source tool, formerly known as Spydish. These two elements make it very attractive to the average user. But it is also an executable app. That is to say, it does not need installation. Additionally, all its options can be managed from a single window. Well, the first thing you have to do is download it from this link. As mentioned, it is not necessary to install the tool. Just unzip the file and run the executable file. Next, the app window will be displayed showing the privacy aspects of Windows.

Initial window of Privatezilla showing privacy aspects of Windows 10

In effect, the wizard displays elements of the system’s privacy. Some of them are: telemetry, Wi-Fi Sense, the biometrics of Windows Hello, curtain and much more. The user can examine each of these key aspects of Windows privacy and security. Now, you can and select each item one by one. In addition, the tool displays detailed explanation about the selected item. Then, the user can activate or deactivate each item individually. However, the smartest option is to click on Analyze. Then the app will show the current privacy status of the system. You can make the changes you consider relevant.

Analyzing the system to increase privacy

The program also has other interesting features. Such as a very useful Bloatware remover. In addition, it allows you to manage the permissions of the apps. Finally, it is possible to control security aspects, Edge, Updates and Cortana. In short, a very complete software that stands out for its simplicity of use.

Conclusion

Ultimately we have seen how to increase privacy in Windows 10. But privacy and security are key elements for the user. Very well, this is all for the moment. Before retiring, I invite you to see our post about How to enable and disable startup applications in Windows 10.
Hi! One of the biggest criticisms of Microsoft is the invasion of user privacy. In fact, when installing the system, it is almost mandatory to use a Microsoft account. Undoubtedly, by using this account, the Redmond company offers you advantages. For example, unifying all Microsoft products and services and using different Windows devices. In addition, it allows you to synchronize files and information. However, many people do not feel comfortable providing access to their data. For this reason, privacy protection is the greatest advantage of a local account. In fact, Microsoft warns you that it will not have access to your information and that if you lose your password, you will not be able to recover it. Let’s see how to create a local account in Windows 10.

Creating a local account in Windows 10 with these simple steps.

The first thing you have to do is enter the Windows settings. With this intention, press the Win+I combination. Once there, go into Accounts.

From the Windows settings, go to the Accounts section.

From the menu on the left, scroll down to Family & other users. Then, from the menu on the right, click on Add someone else to this PC.

Add a new user

In the next window, click on I don’t have this person’s sign-in information and then click on Next.

In the next window, click on Add a user without a Microsoft account.

Then add the new user’s credentials. Please remember to add the security questions with their answers. Since it is an account without internet connection, if you lose your access Microsoft will not be able to recover it.

Add the credentials for the new user

Back to the previous screen, you can see the local account successfully created.

Microsoft increases transparency with respect to user data. This is why it will modify the data that users share from their computers. After Windows 10 gained a reputation among users for “spying on them”. Although the shared diagnostic data is for system improvements. Still, the company wants to offer more transparency. In another attempt to give Windows 10 users more control over their data.

The Redmond people are making some changes to the new Windows 10 build. They are modifying their Configuration app specifically. In the latter are the alternatives to share data. The basic diagnostic data will be “required data”. While the full diagnostic data will be “optional data”. This way Windows 10 will make it easier to change the sharing of diagnostic data

Microsoft seeks to increase transparency with users

The required data corresponds to the current basics. Otherwise, the optional data will gather information based on the user’s decision. The required data will include aspects such as IP address and the type and version of the device. Microsoft needs this data to maintain and improve its products and services.

On the other hand, optional data will become less critical information. For example, images that people insert into Word documents. These are needed to provide better image options. Like when a business customer selects optional settings. Microsoft will offer more detailed Group Policy settings. This will allow the organization to configure what data it collects.

For years, the company has been trying to convince people that Windows 10 doesn’t violate users’ privacy. Yet the company collects a bewildering amount of data. To monitor its reputation, Microsoft has given Windows 10 a Privacy Panel. This gives users more control over the application’s permissions. These changes are the latest effort to make Microsoft increases transparency. The company also says it will share more details as it moves towards the commercial version. This leaves us a little more confident about our privacy. However, it is better to be safe than sorry. So check out this post about a tool to protect your privacy in Windows 10.

Hi, how are you? Privacy is a critical issue in Windows 10. Indeed, your privacy issues in Windows have to do with features associated with telemetry and online. Consequently, our data is sent to Windows servers, whether we want it to or not. Despite the fact that the Redmond company claims that it only uses the data and not identities. There is always the doubt that they could run software on our pc or delete files or programs remotely. On the other hand, Microsoft allows you to disable Windows functions to protect data and privacy. However, in this opportunity, we will see software that makes this function faster and easier. Without further ado, let’s check how to improve Windows privacy with this tool.

How to improve privacy in Windows 10 with Debotnet.

As we mentioned earlier, privacy issues in Windows can be a headache. It may sound extreme, but the latest updates to Windows 10 have sometimes resulted in the loss of data, files, and programs. Of course, there are options to keep Windows 10 more private. For example, using a local account to use Windows 10. Similarly, it is recommended to disable data synchronization. There are also other changes that can be implemented, but it may sound complicated to the beginning user. For that reason, Debotnet tries to develop this work in a simpler way. The first thing you have to do is download the program from this link.

Download the compressed version of the program.

How Debotnet works

This program has a very intuitive interface. This program has a very intuitive interface. In addition, it is portable so the installation will not take up storage on the system. The app is organized into sections. From Start to Windows Defender through Privacy, Microsoft Edge or Cortana. Each section is as simple as possible, showing a list of options that you can check or uncheck. Then, the app will ask you if you want to activate or deactivate all of them. Additionally, it offers a lengthy explanation of the option available. In this way, you can determine whether it is worth keeping or disabling

Debotnet showing privacy improvements.

Additionally, the app offers the possibility of downloading the most recent Windows ISOs on any architecture. In addition to any of the available versions. It also offers Rufus to format and create USB bootable ISOs.

Download ISOS from Windows 10 or prepare the USB.

Another interesting feature is the ability to create a multi-installer with our favorite programs. It uses the Ninite tool for this purpose. If you want to know how it works, check this post.

Conclusion

Ultimately we have seen how to improve the privacy of Windows 10 with this tool. Debotnet is very easy to use app, and the best thing is that it is free for personal and commercial use. All right, I hope this post is useful for you. Before saying goodbye I invite you to see our post about the latest news of the new File Explorer in Windows 10.
