<p>Hi! Today we are still looking for a faster and more comfortable Windows. In fact, in <a href="https://www.osradar.com/how-to-make-windows-10-boot-faster/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">osradar</a> we have already shown you how to start the system faster. However, today we will look at a different approach. In fact, there are some aesthetic elements that improve the look of the system. However, their use can slow down the performance of Windows. For example, the lock screen that plays before user authentication. This element made its appearance in Windows 10. On the other hand, it is intended for devices with touch screens. However, it can be disabled to improve the startup time. Also, access authentication and other sections can be managed in order to save the startup time. So let&#8217;s see how to start Windows quickly with these tricks.</p>

<h2>Start Windows 10 faster with Winlogo.</h2>

<p>This is a small tool developed by Microsoft. Its main function is to configure the integrated automatic login mechanism of Windows. Consequently, instead of waiting for a user to enter a name and password, Windows uses the credentials set in Autologon. In addition, this data is encrypted for faster and more secure login. In the first place, download the tool from this <a href="https://docs.microsoft.com/en-in/sysinternals/downloads/autologon" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">link</a>. This is a compressed file. After decompressing it, just run the executable file.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="305" height="154" src="//1081754738.rsc.cdn77.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/auto.png" alt="Enable the user in Winlogon" class="wp-image-24509" srcset="https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/auto.png 305w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/auto-300x151.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 305px) 100vw, 305px" /><figcaption>Enable the user in Winlogon</figcaption></figure>

<p>If you want to disable the service, just start the tool and click on Disable. Also, if you hold down Shift before the automatic start, then it will be disabled this time. On the other hand, you should only use this method if you are an exclusive user of the computer. This is for security reasons, since any user could access our data without authentication.</p>

<h2>Enable Winlogon in the Windows registry.</h2>

<p>Another way to enable this method is by editing the Windows registry. In this way it is not necessary to resort to applications. With this intention, press the Win+R combination and then run <em>regedit</em>.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="399" height="206" src="//1081754738.rsc.cdn77.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/auto2.png" alt="" class="wp-image-24512" srcset="https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/auto2.png 399w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/auto2-300x155.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 399px) 100vw, 399px" /></figure>

<p>Now navigate to this path: <strong>Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon</strong></p>

<p>Next, you must locate some keys. If you don&#8217;t get them, then you must create it. In the first place, locate the value <strong>Default Password</strong>. If not, then create a new string value. Then, double click on it and assign the value of the access password.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="786" src="//1081754738.rsc.cdn77.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/auto5-1024x786.png" alt="Modifying the sting value" class="wp-image-24513" srcset="https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/auto5-1024x786.png 1024w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/auto5-300x230.png 300w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/auto5-768x590.png 768w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/auto5-696x535.png 696w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/auto5-1068x820.png 1068w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/auto5.png 1280w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Modifying the sting value</figcaption></figure>

<p>Finally, double-click on the AutoAdminLogon string. Then change the value from 0 to 1</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="788" src="//1081754738.rsc.cdn77.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/auto7-1024x788.png" alt="" class="wp-image-24515" srcset="https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/auto7-1024x788.png 1024w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/auto7-300x231.png 300w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/auto7-768x591.png 768w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/auto7-696x536.png 696w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/auto7-1068x822.png 1068w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/auto7.png 1280w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>All you have to do is restart your computer and it will automatically log in with your account and password. But without having to enter it each time on the computer. To reverse the process, simply set the value back to 0.</p>

<h2>Conclusion</h2>

<p>In this way we have learned how to start Windows quickly with these tricks. Of course, having better hardware speeds up the process. However, these changes at the software level can make the difference. All right, stay tuned for the best tricks for Windows. Bye!</p>

<p>Hello! We live in a world that is globalized and highly governed by technology. Indeed, the use of time is a priority so any minute gained is essential. Despite the fact that <a href="https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="Windows 10 (opens in a new tab)">Windows 10</a> is an increasingly improved system, it is also true that sometimes it takes some time to boot up. Consequently, users can make some changes to improve the computer&#8217;s startup. So let&#8217;s see how to make Windows 10 boot faster.</p>

<h2>How to activate Fast Startup in Windows 10.</h2>

<p>Surely the first step to take is to enable this option in the system. In fact, it is most likely that this function is enabled by default. However, if it is not, then follow these steps:</p>

<ul><li>Press the Win+Q combination and in the search box, type Control to enter the Control Panel.</li></ul>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://windowsmen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/st.jpg" alt="Type control to enter the control panel" class="wp-image-352"/><figcaption>Type control to enter the control panel</figcaption></figure>

<ul><li>Once there, enter <strong>System and Security</strong></li></ul>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://windowsmen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/st2.jpg" alt="Select System and Security" class="wp-image-354"/><figcaption>Select System and Security</figcaption></figure>

<ul><li>Now, within the Power Options please select <strong>Change what the power buttons do.</strong></li></ul>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large td-caption-align-https://windowsmen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/st3.jpg"><img src="https://windowsmen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/st3-1.jpg" alt="Modify the power button options." class="wp-image-357"/><figcaption>Modify the power button options.</figcaption></figure>

<ul><li>Then check the box for Turn on fast startup.</li></ul>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://windowsmen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/st4.jpg" alt="Enable fast startup" class="wp-image-358"/><figcaption>Enable fast startup</figcaption></figure>

<h2>Disable applications that start on Windows startup.</h2>

<p>Another way to improve boot speed is to disable applications that start with the boot of Windows 10. This way resources are focused on just booting the operating system. To do this you need to enter the Task Manager by pressing the combination Ctrl+Shift+Esc. Once there, select the Startup tab. Next, you can see the processes that are started with the system, as well as the impact they have on the startup. Consequently, press the right mouse button and disable it.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://windowsmen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/start.jpg" alt="Disable unnecessary processes." class="wp-image-411"/><figcaption>Disable unnecessary processes.</figcaption></figure>

<p>Please note that there are Windows-specific processes that should not be disabled as they can generate instability. These processes are those related to sound or mouse drivers. Another way to disable applications from booting is to enter the Windows 10 settings. With that intention, please press the Win+I combination and then enter the <strong>Apps.</strong></p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large td-caption-align-https://windowsmen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/start2-1.jpg"><img src="https://windowsmen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/start2-1-1024x548.jpg" alt="Enter the apps" class="wp-image-414"/><figcaption>Enter the apps</figcaption></figure>

<p>Then select the Startup menu and in the right column disable the startup service.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large td-caption-align-https://windowsmen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/start3.jpg"><img src="https://windowsmen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/start3-1024x548.jpg" alt="Disable apps that slow down Windows 10 startup" class="wp-image-416"/><figcaption>Disable apps that slow down Windows 10 startup</figcaption></figure>

<h2>Disable visual effects in Windows 10</h2>

<p>Finally, we have a little trick to optimize operating system performance. Windows 10 has by default some special effects that improve aesthetics. However, these effects consume valuable resources that can damage the performance of Windows. Therefore, it is possible to partially or totally disable these effects according to your needs. This trick will work especially for those users of modest equipment. So without further delay, let&#8217;s see how to do it. First press the Win+R combination and execute the command <em>sysdm.cpl </em></p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://windowsmen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/start4.jpg" alt="Enter the system properties" class="wp-image-418"/><figcaption>Enter the system properties</figcaption></figure>

<p>Immediately a window will be displayed, please select the <strong>Advanced</strong> tab and then click on <strong>Performance Settings</strong></p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://windowsmen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/start5.jpg" alt="Enter the visual effects settings." class="wp-image-419"/><figcaption>Enter the visual effects settings.</figcaption></figure>

<p>The window with the visual effects will then be displayed. There are also options for better performance or better visual appearance. You can also let Windows select the best settings for your computer. Finally, you can customize the selection of effects. In particular, I use the settings that I will show you next. However, it is up to each user to select and modify the options. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://windowsmen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/start6.jpg" alt="Modify visual effects in Windows 10" class="wp-image-421"/><figcaption>Modify visual effects in Windows 10</figcaption></figure>

<h2> Conclusion </h2>

<p>Ultimately we have seen how to make Windows 10 boot faster. With these simple tricks, it is possible to improve the performance and stability of the system. All right, that&#8217;s it for now. Before saying goodbye I want to invite you to see our post about how to shut down Windows 10 from <a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="the keyboard (opens in a new tab)" href="https://windowsmen.com/how-to-turn-off-windows-10-from-the-keyboard/" target="_blank">the keyboard</a>. Bye!</p>
