Hi, how are you? The RAM memory is the one that stores the instructions of the CPU. It also manages the data that applications need constantly while they are running. In addition, Windows manages it automatically. However, sometimes some applications may be consuming more than they should. Even if you have a computer with enough RAM, it is possible that some apps are consuming memory. Consequently, the computer’s performance may suffer. For that reason, today we will see how to free up ram memory in Windows 10.

Shut down the most RAM-consuming applications

With this intention, enter the task manager by pressing the combination Ctrl+Alt+Esc. Once there, click on Memory.

Inside the task manager, go to Memory.

This way, the apps that are consuming more RAM memory will be shown in an orderly way. Well, right-click on the app. Finally, select End Task to close it and release ram immediately.

Finish the apps that are consuming more memory.

Disables applications that are started with the PC

The second method is to remove applications that start with Windows. This allows you to save RAM from the beginning and get a faster boot. With this in mind, again access the task manager by pressing the combination Ctrl+Alt+Esc. Once there, select the Startup tab

Go to the Startup tab

This window shows the apps that start together with Windows. Also, you can see the impact they have on the system startup. Therefore, right-click on the program to disable the startup. From this moment on, the program will not start together with Windows.

Disables programs that start on Windows startup.

Clean your web browser

It is a fact that web browsers consume a lot of ram memory. For that reason, it is recommended to clean it from extensions that you do not use. It is a fact that web browsers consume a lot of ram memory. For that reason, it is recommended to clean it from extensions that you do not use. With this intention enter the browser settings and scroll down to the extensions. Then select the extensions you no longer use and disable them from the browser.

Remove the extension

Close down the sites that are consuming the most ram.

Another step to try is to close the pages that are consuming more ram memory in the browser. To do this, enter the task manager of the browser. Once there, inside the memory tab please check which site has a high consumption. Then select the process and click on End task.

Ends the page that consumes the most ram.

Remove unused applications

Sometimes some applications consume a lot of ram memory. Consequently, the user constantly disables them. If this is the case, please check whether it is worth keeping the problematic software. With this in mind, please press the Win+I combination to enter the Windows features. Then open the application section.

Enter Windows apps.

A window with the list of installed apps will be displayed immediately. Select the program and click on Uninstall.

Uninstall the program.

Now, if you scroll down in this window, you will see the Program and Features option. This is the classic Windows uninstaller. On the other hand, there are programs that resist being uninstalled by the previous menu. Therefore, if you have problems, you can go here.

Uninstall programs

Every time you restart the computer, the ram memory will be restarted. Consequently, you can always choose this last option. However, to prevent data loss, please save all work. Finally, from the start menu, press the reboot option.
