Hello! Windows 10 no longer installs all available driver updates. Indeed, it now offers a list of optional updates. In addition, it is the responsibility of the manufacturers to indicate whether an update should be automatic or optional. However, Windows Update updates usually work fine most of the time. So these should normally be enough to ensure good performance. However, there are times when it is necessary to resort to such updates. Let’s read on to find out if you need to install optional driver updates in Windows 10.

Optional driver updates in Windows 10. Is it really necessary to install them?

Drivers have always represented a challenge for Microsoft systems. Indeed, in the days of Windows XP, they were a serious task. Certainly, a lot of progress has been made in this regard. However, sometimes drivers can destabilize the system. The guys in Redmond have tried to solve these problems. With this in mind, they intend to centralize the installation from Windows Update. As mentioned, Windows Update usually works correctly. On the other hand, there are exceptions. For example, when there are problems with a specific hardware device. It could be a fingerprint reader that does not work properly. Or a touchpad that does not respond correctly. Likewise, gamers have a need to constantly update graphics card drivers. You may also experience sound problems, etc. In those cases, the solution may be to look for a driver update.
