The speed of the internet is determined by a number of parameters and functions. Indeed, the network equipment and the contracted plan influence the final speed. Similarly, user activity conditions bandwidth performance. For example, downloads and open programs have an impact on network behavior. It is well known that optimal network speed is key to optimal workstation performance. For that reason, today we will see how to check internet speed in Windows 10 taskbar.

How to see the internet speed from the task manager in Windows 10

The first thing we will do is use our own Windows tool to monitor the speed of the Internet. To do this we will enter the Task Manager. With this in mind press the combination Ctrl+Shift+Esc. Once there click on the Performance tab. Then scroll down to the bottom and click on the device connected to the network. In this example, the Wi-Fi device.

Checking the internet speed from the task manager

With the previous method we can check the internet speed from Windows. However, you always have to open the task manager. On the other hand, to have a persistent notification in the taskbar will be necessary to use a third party application. Don’t worry, it’s a free application called NetSpeedMonitor that can be downloaded from here. When you start installing it, you will receive this warning screen about the incompatibility of the program. That is, Windows 10 is not supported by the app.

Program is not supported by Windows 10

As it is not supported, the installation is aborted. But don’t worry, let’s see how to solve this problem. As it is not supported, the installation is aborted.
