Windows 11 integrates different tools that will try to customize to the maximum the experience that you can have while using it. For example, it is possible to customize the taskbar. This way it adapts to the personal taste of each user. However, it is also possible to customize the mouse pointer. At the end of the day, it is permanently visible while working. This customization can be done through the native options that are integrated into the software. On the other hand, there are also third-party programs that will allow a much more complete experience. Consequently, we will look at both options. Read on to find out how to customize the mouse pointer in Windows 11.

Personalization integrated in Windows 11.

As already mentioned, the system’s own configuration integrates several tools to customize it. One of them is designed to give a personal touch to the mouse pointer used to select a file. The problem with it is that they are completely locked into a predefined scheme that does not allow you to vary. This may upset some users. On the other hand, being integrated into the system itself, makes it really easier to manage.

The first step to make this change is to access Settings. With this in mind, just press the Win+I combination. Then, in the menu on the left, just click on Personalization. Once there, you will see all the available settings. Please scroll down to the bottom and click on Themes.

Within Themes, there are numerous options to be able to edit everything you are seeing in the operating system. For this particular case, you are going to have to scroll in the top section to Mouse Cursor.

In the pop-up window, all the properties of the mouse you have connected will be displayed. In the upper part you will find the different tabs, and you will have to access Pointers. So, in the first box, you will find different schemes that are predetermined and created by Windows itself. By default, you will be in the default scheme. But when you open the drop-down menu, you will be able to find the one you like the most.

Changing color schemes

When selecting a specific schematic, in the lower part, you will be able to find the design in each of the situations that arise within the system. For example, in normal selection or when working in the background. Furthermore, when you are busy among other different situations. When you have chosen the one you like best, you will be able to click on Apply at the bottom. From that moment on, the mouse pointer will be completely modified. You will also see the changes applied in different parts of the system. In the same way, it will vary according to the part of the system you are in.

Pages to download pointers and installation

Suppose these color schemes are not to your total liking. In that case, there are different websites that will allow you to download other types of cursors. One of them can be Deviantart which has cursors for dark or light mode. In addition, we find curious shapes such as pixel art design, animated pointers and others with a much more classic style. The only point to keep in mind is that you will have to put in the search engine that you are looking for cursors.

But there are also alternatives for non-traditional ones. Especially for those focused on animated cursors, anime, cartoons, comics, games, or food in general. In that case, you can access CURSORS-4U. When you enter you will find all these categories and more as well as a preview of everything you will be able to download.

And in case nothing convinces you, and you want to bring out your creative branch, you should know that you will be able to do it without any problems. All this thanks to ICO Convert, a website that will allow you to upload a PNG, JPG or ICO file to transform it and adapt it to be used as another cursor. The only requirement is that the file must not exceed 50 MB in size.

Customizing designs of mouse pointer.

On all of these sites, either by choosing from a pre-designed layout or if you do it yourself, you will have in your download folder a compatible file to export to the system configuration. By having this file downloaded locally, you will be able to access the system configuration. Consequently, on the side click on Customization, the same to make customization changes natively with Windows.

The difference is that when you open the properties, you do not have to select a specific scheme. Simply go to the bottom of the window and click on Browse. In the file explorer that opens, you will be able to pick the file you have downloaded from this web page. In this way, the scheme that you have downloaded from the Internet will be loaded and applied to the system.

Finally, the only thing you will have to do is click on Apply, to finally have all the changes introduced in the operating system. There is no established limit to be able to introduce files in this case, so you will be able to introduce different options and change them. Okay, so we have learned how to customize the mouse pointer in Windows 11. In addition, we show you some third-party options to further customize your operating system. Bye!

However, we will see a different option. Indeed, mobile devices are increasingly used in the world. If by chance, your computer mouse fails and you have your smartphone. Then you can solve your problem momentarily. Come with me to see How to use your mobile phone as a mouse in Windows 10.

Download Remote Mouse from Google Play

To achieve this function we will use an Android app called Remote Control. With this intention, go to this link. This application is free but with advertising included. If you want a free version of advertising you will have to pay for it. However, the ads are not very intrusive and allow you to use the app without problems.

Downloading the client for Windows from the manufacturer’s page

For the procedure to work properly, it is necessary to download the client for Windows. With this in mind, please go to this link, and download the corresponding version:

Download the client for Windows.

The installation of the client is very simple, and is done like most Windows apps.

Setting the device for the first use.

Please note that for the app to work, both devices must be connected to the same WiFi network. After installing the desktop client, you can see an icon on the taskbar.

By clicking on it you can see the current status of the program. The client of the connected phone does not appear yet.

Back to the mobile phone, you can start the configuration:

Hi, how are you? Today we will talk a little about accessibility in Windows 10. It is well known that the mouse is a very used peripheral in any operating system. Indeed, numerous tasks depend on this device. However, it may fail at some point. So it can represent a big problem for the user. In that case, the most obvious solution is to use a new device. But, if you don’t have it, here I will propose an alternative solution. Indeed, we will see how to move the mouse with the keyboard in Windows 10.

How to move the mouse with the keyboard from the control panel

In the first place enter the control panel. Once there, enter Ease of Access.

From the control panel, enter the Ease of Access.

Then go to Change how your keyboard works.

Changes the behavior of the keyboard.

Then check the Turn on Mouse Keys box. Immediately, select the Set up Mouse keys option.

Activate the controls to manage the mouse with the keyboard.

On this screen, you can edit some functions on or off. It is also possible to set the speed of the pointer. Another interesting function is to press the Crtl key to increase the speed or Shift to decrease it. From this, you can use these keys to control the speed of the pointer. Finally, you tick the Turn on Mouse Keys box again.

Back to the previous screen, please press OK to confirm the changes. In addition, a mouse icon on the taskbar indicates that the function is active.

Setting up the changes.

Setting the Mouse Keys

In addition to the icon on the taskbar, there is another way to verify that this function is activated. With this in mind, please press the Win+I combination to enter the Windows settings. Once there, please go to Ease of Access.

Enter to Ease of Access

Then scroll down to Mouse.

Click on Mouse

Here you can manage the options as well as the control panel.

Control the mouse with the keyboard.

Once activated, we have to move the mouse according to the following keys:

Up and left: 7

Up: 8

Up and right: 9

Left: 4

Right: 6

Down and left: 1

Down: 2

Down and right: 3

Left-Click: 5

Changing to right-click: /

Returning to left-click: –

Drag: 0

Accelerating pointer movement: Hold CTRL key

Slow down pointer movement: Hold SHIFT key.

Conclusion

At the end of the day, we have seen how to move the mouse using the keyboard in Windows 10. Also, it’s a way to keep working despite the failure of the peripheral. Before saying goodbye I invite you to see our post about managing Android from Windows 10.

If you’re a Windows user, there’s a good chance that you own a gaming mouse – mouse for the purpose of gaming. These mice have a longer lifetime even if you play click-intensive games like FPS or other strategy games. All those extra buttons have their own works, right? Unfortunately, outside your game, those buttons are hardly of any use.

When talking about the extra buttons, those are generally the 2 buttons at the side of the mouse. They are generally called “Mouse button 4” and “Mouse button 5” in most games. Using those buttons is great in your everyday life to improve your performance and flexibility.

For performing the action, we’ll be needing a small tool called Mouse Manager. Download Mouse Manager. It’s not a portable app; you have to install it in your system for doing tasks.

Using Mouse Manager

After you’ve successfully installed, launch the tool.

From the “Settings” tab, check the option for starting the tool with Windows.

Now, from the “Profiles” tab, select “Add”. This will create a profile.

Now, you have to ensure what functions the button will perform. For example, I’m assigning “H E L L O” for “Mouse Button 4”.

It’s time to check out the result. Open a notepad and press the button.

Here, when you pressed the “Mouse button 4”, it simply sent the signal of H E L L O buttons to the computer. If you kept your “Caps Lock” on, the output would be different.

Just like that, you can assign other functions for the mouse button using the app.

There are infinite number of possible key combos and so is the number of profile. You can set which profile you want from the tray icon. It’s a lightweight program, so don’t worry about the memory consumption of the app.
