Greetings friends! Twitter’s competition is already here. Recently, Meta launched Threads, A new platform that offers similar features to Elon Musk’s social network. With features such as tweet-like short text messages. With the ability to create threads and other features typical of the microblogging platform. Best of all, you don’t need to create an account because it is directly linked to your Instagram account. Unfortunately, Meta was unable to launch Threads in countries like Spain. And that includes most European countries due to issues with EU data protection regulations. And although Meta is already trying to comply with the current European legislation. Right now you won’t be able to download the app from Play Store or App Store if you are located in some of these countries. So, in this post, we will show you how to download Threads if it is not available in your country on your Android phone.

Threads are not available on Google Play: how to download the app in any European country

Even if it is not on the Play Store or App Store. Threads can already be used in countries such as Spain and France without problems. When you install it on your phone, the app will automatically be available in the corresponding language and you will be able to use all the functions. But how do you install it? All you have to do is follow the steps below:

First step

Download the APK file from APKMirror, you can do it by following the link below:

APKMirror | Threads, an Instagram app

APKMirror

Second step

Then once the APK file has been downloaded, you must enable the unknown origins to be able to install the app. To enable them you must open the APK file, then tap the “Settings” button. Next, enable the “allow from this source” option.

open the APK file

Settings

allow from this source

Third step

After that, tap the “install” button, wait until the installation is done, and if you want you can press the “Open” button to run the app, or the “Done” button to finish.

tap the “install” button

It is likely that in the next few days Threads will be available for download from the Play Store and App Store

If you have an iPhone, (which does not allow installation of apps outside the App Store). You will have to wait for Meta to adapt to European regulations to be able to download Threads from the app store. Don’t worry, this is likely to happen very soon. Since its launch, the terms and conditions of use of Meta’s new app have already been updated. This is a clear sign that Meta is already working on bringing Threads to Europe.

Conclusion

Threads is an app from Meta that allows you to send messages and photos to your closest contacts. However, this application is not available in all countries. Which may be inconvenient for some Android users. Another way to download Threads if it is not available in your country is to use a VPN (virtual private network). That changes your location and allows you to access the app store in another country where it is available. The other way would be the one we already saw in this post, which is to search for the Threads APK file on trusted websites and download it directly to your phone. These options can help you enjoy Threads and its features, as long as you respect the rules of use and security of the application and your device. Thanks for reading. Bye!

Hello folks! Just like websites can track you to create an advertising profile. The same goes for apps. As Google continues to prepare its alternatives to cookies built into Android. In case you want to prevent apps from tracking you. Then You need the help of DuckDuckGo, the app from the popular web search engine. DuckDuckGo is known for protecting your searches and web browsing. But since last year it also includes protection against app trackers. It’s still in beta, but it’s fully functional and free. In this post, we will show you how to prevent your Android apps from sharing your data with third parties.

Install DuckDuckGo

To prevent your favorite apps from providing your preferences to Meta and the like. You will need to install the DuckDuckGo app for Android. You can find it on Google Play. Although if you’re worried about trackers you may already be using them to protect your browsing and searches. What is not so well known is the function that is hidden in the app’s settings. It is that DuckDuckGo can also protect you against trackers in applications. It is in beta since last year. So it can give problems in some applications. But luckily it allows you to select which app is affected.

Google Play | DuckDuckGo

Install DuckDuckGo

Enable tracking protection

Okay, so you’ve got DuckDuckGo installed, now what? The app protects you inbound on the web browser that you do in the app itself. But the protection against application tracking is not activated until you do it manually.

How to prevent your Android apps from sharing your data with third parties

To do this you will need to open the application’s options menu. Then go to the “Settings” section. Scroll to the bottom and go to “App Tracking Protection”, which is labeled Beta.

Then go to the “Settings” section

You will then see a series of windows explaining how this protection works. DuckDuckGo creates a local VPN. That is, your data does not leave the device that is used to filter the connection and prevent it. For example, application X communicates with Facebook servers. Data other than from known trackers is allowed, so apps should, in principle, work properly.

go to “App Tracking Protection”

Use your apps normally

You don’t need to do anything else. Keep using your phone normally and the local VPN created by DuckDuckGo will filter connections to known trackers for you. Taking note of who has connected to what. You can see the statistics of blocked trackers per app from the same section of the settings.

The protection against application tracking is considered beta. Because some apps may have problems or may not load new content at all. While DuckDuckGo automatically leaves traffic unfiltered for some apps that do not have problems with this protection. You may still encounter others that don’t load content or have errors.

If this is the case, you can disable the protection for specific apps by going to the “App Tracking Protection” options and clicking on “View apps” at the bottom. Thanks for reading us. Bye!
