Hello, I was recently working on my computer when it suddenly shut down. In effect, the power was disconnected for no apparent external reason. Since there was no power failure. Therefore, it was an internal problem with the computer. So I waited a while and tried to turn it on again. What happened is that it was on for a moment and then turned off again. Consequently, I proceeded to check the internal functioning of the hardware. Indeed, the CPU fan cooler was stuck. Therefore, it was not cooling the processor. Most computers have an emergency shutdown. That is, when a certain value is reached, then it shuts down as a precaution. Consequently, it is important to know the hardware temperature. See here how to measure the CPU temperature in Windows 10.

How to check the CPU temperature in Windows 10.

Windows 10 does not provide a native app to measure processor temperature. Or even of any other hardware element. Therefore, it is necessary to resort to third-party programs:

Core Temp

First, we will talk about Core Temp. This free app is lightweight and serves its purpose faithfully. It shows the processor temperature in real-time. Besides, it has the advantage of showing the values in the taskbar. It even shows color patterns according to the temperature level. Therefore, the user can constantly monitor the temperature of the computer. In addition, the tool indicates the temperature of each of the processor cores.

This tool can be downloaded for free from the following link. However, the installer tries to sneak in bloatware. Therefore, be alert at the time of installation.

Speed Fan

This program is similar in features to the previous one. However, its operation is more complete. It not only shows the CPU temperature. In fact, the program shows the temperature of the hard disk and the graphics processor.

SpeedFan showing the processor temperature.

SpeedFan also allows you to view values of voltages and fan speeds. It even allows you to modify the fan speed. This tool is ready to be downloaded for free from here.

HWMonitor

HWMonitor is an application compatible with all current CPU developers. When executed, it provides detailed information about various elements. For example, fan speed, the temperature of cores and processors, etc. To use it, download it from here.

The interface shows in detail each component with its respective speed and temperature. It even allows you to update drivers and BIOS from the menu.

HWinfo

This is one of the most complete programs for monitoring computer temperatures. Besides being free, it has a portable version. So it is not necessary to install it. On startup, it displays various computer temperature values. Hard disks, CPU, Graphics card (GPU), Motherboard, Power supply. In general, it displays information about any device connected to the computer. We can even know the voltages of the components and the revolutions per minute of the fans.

Hi, how are you? A computer is made up of a series of hardware components. That is, processor, ram memory, audio, and video output, among others. Most of the time, the user does not know the model or the specific component of the device on the computer. However, Windows sometimes has a problem with drivers. So, at that time it is important to have the exact information about the hardware. Windows 10 does not easily display information about physical components. So in this post, we will see, how to collect the hardware information in Windows 10.

See all the hardware information on your computer with HWINFO64.

As I was told, finding out about hardware in Windows 10 is not easy. In order to do so, it is necessary to use a third-party tool. Specifically, Hwinfo64 is a free tool designed to display all information related to the hardware on the computer. It also displays sensor information. Well, it can be downloaded from here. Please note that there is an installable and portable version. After installing and running the program, the following screen will be displayed. This display shows information about the computer’s CPU and GPU. Indeed, it is possible to see the architecture, frequencies, consumption, characteristics, and functions.

Hwinfo64 showing CPU and GPU information

The second screen shows detailed information about all the components of the equipment. In fact, clicking on any component will display all the technical information. In this way, it is possible to know the exact model of the graphic card. Or the motherboard and the installed ram.

Hwinfo64 showing information about the motherboard.

On the other hand, when you click on a component, the option to see its info is displayed. Additionally, when you click on Download Driver, you will be redirected to the manufacturer’s website.

Update the drivers with Hwinfo64.

It monitors the operation of the computer using the Sensor function.

As mentioned, this program is very complete. In addition to displaying hardware information, it also incorporates a function called Sensors. Clicking on this element displays a window that allows you to monitor the operation of the hardware. In effect, the frequency, load capacity and even temperature of various components are displayed.

Sensors showing detailed information on Hwinfo64

Conclusion

Ultimately we have seen how to collect all the hardware information in Windows 10. This free tool shows detailed information about the hardware. But it also goes beyond that, as it allows you to download drivers from the manufacturers. That’s a big help. On the other hand, the sensors show additional information. For example, the frequency and temperature of the various components. In conclusion, it is a very complete tool. Also, its interface is friendly and easy to use. Besides being free, it comes in an executable and portable presentation as well. So it’s a great way to find out about computer hardware. All right, that’s it for now. Before I say goodbye, I invite you to see the post about renaming multiple files in Windows 10. Bye!
