<p>Hello! Windows 10 is a very popular operating system. Indeed, its users range from novices to advanced programmers. However, there is one common element for all of them. We are talking about security. This aspect is a fundamental concern at any level. Therefore, any additional measures to improve security are welcome. It is well known that it is possible to assign a password to each user. On the other hand, it is possible to assign an expiration date for this password. This increases security levels. Consequently, let&#8217;s see how to schedule the password changes in Windows 10.</p>

<h2>Set the expiration date with the Microsoft account.</h2>

<p>The vast majority of users manage Windows 10 with a Microsoft account. In fact, this is the default option to start using the operating system. Well, to edit the security settings of the Microsoft account, it is necessary to enter this <a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="link (opens in a new tab)" href="https://account.microsoft.com/security/" target="_blank">link</a>. Once there, please go to the Change Password option.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="548" src="//1723336065.rsc.cdn77.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/sh-1-1024x548.jpg" alt="Entering Microsoft account security options." class="wp-image-17306" srcset="https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/sh-1-1024x548.jpg 1024w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/sh-1-300x161.jpg 300w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/sh-1-768x411.jpg 768w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/sh-1-696x373.jpg 696w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/sh-1-1068x572.jpg 1068w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/sh-1-785x420.jpg 785w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/sh-1.jpg 1360w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Entering Microsoft account security options.</figcaption></figure>

<p>The system will then proceed to verify the identity via email or SMS.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="548" src="//1723336065.rsc.cdn77.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/sh2-3-1024x548.jpg" alt="Verify your identity to proceed with the process." class="wp-image-17309" srcset="https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/sh2-3-1024x548.jpg 1024w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/sh2-3-300x161.jpg 300w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/sh2-3-768x411.jpg 768w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/sh2-3-696x373.jpg 696w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/sh2-3-1068x572.jpg 1068w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/sh2-3-785x420.jpg 785w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/sh2-3.jpg 1360w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Verify your identity to proceed with the process.</figcaption></figure>
