Jokes aside, dark color is also something helpful for your health as well. The monitor is a source of light sitting directly in front of you with constant change in brightness – light and dark and light and dark etc. Different application uses different color combos for creating a focus point. However, according to various reports, darker overall theme strains the eye less than the lighter ones.

Well, we’ve already discussed a few dark themes like the Arc, Qogir etc. Today, we’ll check out on enabling the “dark” on Firefox – the default web browser in most of the Linux distros.

Firefox DARK mode

Firefox, by default, comes up with the light theme. It’s pretty simple and charming.

Default Dark theme

Open a new tab and go to the URL: about:addons

Now, open the “Themes” tab from the left panel.

There, you’ll find out the “Dark” theme.

Enable the theme.

Voila! The dark theme is enabled!

Using add-ons

Check out the “Dark Mode” add-on for Firefox.

After the installation is complete, you’ll find out a little switch icon at the top-left side of the window.

Now, open up one of your favorite website, for example, YouTube –

Now, turn on the “dark” mode on with the switch –

Note that this method won’t change the entire browser style to “dark”. Instead, it’s an extension to the previous method.

Combine them together and voila! The ultimate DARK web experience!
