]]> Fedora is a nice Linux distro. It’s owned by Red Hat and developed by community-supported Fedora Project. This awesome distro is highly polished and targets for providing the leading edge of technologies. If you wish to try out all the upcoming features in the world of Linux, Fedora is your choice as it’s the first distro that integrates all of those for users.

Recently, Fedora 28 has been released. It comes with some important changes like easier installation of 3rd-party software in the system, support for the Modular repository, improved battery life etc. Now, let’s take a feel of all the changes directly by installing the OS.

I’ll be installing Fedora 28 Workstation. The “Server” installation should also be the same.

Preparing your system

Before we start the installation, download the Fedora ISO and prepare a bootable USB flash drive, the fastest installation media possible.

Backup all your files in a safe place and boot into the installer USB drive.

Installing Fedora

  • Choose to start Fedora 28 Workstation live session.

 

  • You’ll get 2 options – “Try Fedora” and “Install to Hard Drive”. Let’s choose “Install to Hard Drive”. If you want to enjoy the OS before installing, you can choose “Try Fedora”.

  • Select your language.

  • You’ll be offered with 3 available options to configure – keyboard layout, time zone and “installation destination” – the partitioning. I’ve selected “Automatic partitioning”, but you can make your own partitioning.

  • After everything is complete, click “Begin Installation”.
  • It’ll take a while for the installation to complete. Be patient.

After the installation is complete, restart your system for a complete fresh starting. Enjoy Fedora 28!
