Hello! Windows is designed so that anyone can enjoy their computer without needing to know too much about computers. In truth, it is a simple system that we are all more than used to using. However, from time to time, we might suffer some kind of error. Consequently, that is where the problems begin. An example of this is error 0x800700a1. If so, we will tell you why it happens and how you can fix it.

Why error 0x800700a1 occurs.

The most important thing we need to know to resolve a problem on Windows is the error that causes it. In fact, Microsoft has a list of error codes to be able to identify them easily. This one in particular is an error that appears when we download new updates to our computer. However, its occurrence can be due to several difficulties. For example, issues with corrupted files or conflicts between hardware and drivers. Below, we give you a series of tips and steps so that you can solve it without having to go to an expert.

Try restarting and updating again

As mentioned above, this 0x800700a1 error can occur for very limited reasons. However, this does not prevent us from solving it with one of the most commonly used tools in computing: restarting the computer.

As we have already mentioned, this 0x800700a1 error can occur for very limited reasons. However, this does not prevent us from solving it with one of the most commonly used tools in computing: restarting the computer.

Free up space on your hard drive

The Windows updates that we apply in our computer force us to download some files to be able to apply them. Consequently, it is necessary to have enough space on our hard disk. Therefore, the absence of this can be a very common cause of this error.

If you have only one hard disk in your computer, or you have several with very little space, you should try deleting unnecessary files. This way, you will have more room to download the files needed to update your Windows.

Unplug unneeded peripherals

This problem is certainly not as common as the hard disk space issue. However, an incompatibility of hardware or hardware drivers can also be the reason for not being able to correctly update our operating system.

To upgrade your computer, you will need the keyboard and mouse only. Therefore, unplug all other peripherals you have connected. It doesn’t matter whether it is a speaker or a microphone, remove them all and try upgrading again.

Use the Windows Troubleshooter

Microsoft understands errors that occur on Windows can be difficult to fix for those who do not have the tools or knowledge. For those cases, there is the Windows Troubleshooter. In fact, it has a tool specially designed to solve problems related to Windows installation. To access it, just follow the steps below:

Enter the Windows settings by pressing the Win+I combination.

Click on Update & Security

Inside, we will go to the section Troubleshoot problems on the left side of the screen.

In the following window, pulsate additional Troubleshooters

It accedes to Windows Update in the new window

Restart Windows Update Services

Another, more complex solution is to restart Windows Update services. If these services are not working properly, it is more than likely that your computer will fail whenever you try to update it. To accomplish this, do the following:

Use the keyboard shortcut Windows + R

Type in the window that appears services.msc and press Enter

Find Windows Update and right-click on it

Choose Properties

Change the startup type to Automatic

Click Start under Service Status

Click Apply and OK

Try running DISM

The 0x800700a1 error may also be caused by some component of our computer being damaged or not working properly. To solve this, we can try running a DISM scan. As a result, the error will be detected and corrected automatically. With this intention:

Type CMD in the Windows search engine.

In the Command Prompt icon, right-click and run as administrator.

Once the box appears on the screen, enter DISM.exe /Online /cleanup-image /Restorehealth.

Delete what is inside this folder

You may not know it, but all files that are related to your operating system updates are stored in a folder. Which, called SoftwareDistribution, may suffer some problem that is what is showing you on the screen the 0x800700a1 error. However, it is not as simple as searching for it and simply deleting it. Follow these steps:

Access the Command Prompt as administrator (the same steps you can see above)

Type the following commands: net stop wuauserv and net stop bits.

You will need to press Enter after entering each one

Press the shortcut Windows + E to open File Explorer

Go to the following location: WindowsSoftwareDistribution

Select everything you see in the folder and delete it.

If you see that a file is in use, and you cannot delete it, restart the computer and try again.

Re-open the Command Prompt as an administrator

Enter the following commands: net start wuauserv and net start bits.

Reboot your system and try to update again

Check the date and time

It may sound strange to you, but if our computer is displaying the wrong date or time, we may have some performance problems. One of them, of course, can be an issue in updating Windows. This error is somewhat simple. Therefore, it is not difficult to be overlooked. To solve it, we will only have to do the following:

Access Settings with Windows + I

Select Time and language

Choose Date and time

Uncheck to have the time update automatically.

Click on Change to set the data manually

Restart the computer and try to update

Alternatively, you can right-click on the time in the taskbar. Then click on Adjust date/time.

Try a clean start

We come to the last tool or process to try to solve this annoying Windows error. It may be that some processes or applications are directly interfering with Windows Update. Therefore, we will not be able to update our system. For this, the best we can try is to do what is called a clean boot:

Press the shortcut Windows + R and type msconfig

Check Selective startup, and choose Load system services.

Switch to the Services tab

Check the Hide all Microsoft services option

Click on the Disable all option

Click Apply

Now, type Task Manager in the search engine and access it

Search in the tab Startup all the applications that are started with your computer and are unnecessary

Click on each of them and select Disable

Restart your computer.

Very well, in this way we have seen Windows Error 0x800700a1 and how to fix it. We sincerely hope that we have been able to help you solve this annoying problem. See you soon!

Hello! Microsoft’s development of its operating system is on its way to becoming a tremendously stable software. Certainly, there is still room for some bugs, even in the most complete and secure versions that have been made. Indeed, one of these is the so-called blue screen of death. The blue screen of death problem is not a bug as such, but a system defense measure. This happens when it cannot recover from various system failures, so it decides to stop everything. Certainly, the system constantly encounters issues, but Windows usually manages to isolate them automatically so that you can continue working. Here we present even solutions for the blue screen of death in Windows.

Why does the blue screen of death appear (memory management)?

The system freezes and forces you to reboot. Generally, this is not a major problem. However, it has a bad reputation that it has gotten since previous versions. From Windows 10, it is a less frequent and less serious error, although it continues forcing to restart the computer if it appears. Mostly, the inconvenience disappears when using this method. However, it may be reproduced incessantly. Therefore, it is necessary to get to the root of the issue.

Kindly note that the system usually boots normally once you have restarted it. However, this blue screen may constantly reappear if any of the boot files are corrupted. It also happens if the ram is not empty at shutdown. Consequently, the Memory Management message appears. This refers to the failure in the management of this memory that serves as a support for booting the computer.

To check if the RAM status is correct, there are different free tools that you can use. The most convenient is the one that Windows has natively. Enter the Start menu and look for Windows Memory Diagnostics, where you can restart the computer to check for RAM problems.

What does the blue screen of death without letters mean in Windows 10?

When a blue screen appears, it is usually related to some code. Indeed, this code shows the type of problem that has caused the system to freeze. Therefore, knowing the meaning of the code on the screen, we can determine the origin of the failure. Consequently, it could be the drivers, a program that is incompatible with Windows 10 or a critical system process has suddenly stopped. Some of the ones that may appear are the following:

CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED

SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

VIDEO_TDR_TIMEOUT_DETECTED

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION

DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION

However, some cases may occur in which no code or text appears on the blue screen. Consequently, only a background of that color appears. It is certainly a situation that fills with uncertainty the user who does not know how to act. First, you just have to turn off the computer with the physical button and turn it on again. When you get to the desktop, try to update the Windows drivers, as this is the most common problem with the blue screen.

Other tricks to solve this Windows problem.

Fortunately, many of these errors have common solutions and do not require the download of external programs. Therefore, they can be fixed with Windows’ own tools. We will look at different methods. Some are more complex than others, but eventually, they serve to solve this annoying error.

Reinstall programs.

The problem with this error may be in a third-party program that you have installed on your computer. The downloaded version may be incompatible with Windows 10. As a result, this error usually pops up when you start that specific program. The solution to this is to install another version that is compatible with the system, either newer or older.

If the error persists, then you should think about an alternative to that program. To uninstall it, go to Control Panel>Uninstall Programs and look for the one that is giving you problems. However, sometimes the damage is such that it does not allow access to the Windows graphical interface. If so, take a look here to learn how to uninstall programs with CMD.

Use an antivirus.

It is quite possible that some program has caused a virus or malware to lurk in the system. Consequently, uninstalling the application will do no good if you don’t fix the malicious file. So use an antivirus to scan the entire storage and find the virus that will continue to give problems with the blue screen.

We can resort to Windows Defender or a third-party solution. In general, the Windows 10 internal antivirus is sufficient. However, if the error persists, you can try a serious provider.

Update Windows drivers.

We already told you that driver incompatibility is usually the common reason for almost all blue screens, both those of the system and those of a specific program. A situation that can be avoided if you keep the drivers up to date. You can also do it from the system itself, or resort to third-party solutions.

The easiest and safest option is through Windows Update, a tool that stores operating system updates and makes them available for download. In the previous link, we show you how to do it. On the other hand, from Device Manager you can check if any of the recent drivers are giving operating problems. Therefore, it will give us clues about the origin of the blue screen of death.

Safe Mode

This mode starts Windows in its most basic state, with a limited number of files and drivers. This way, we can troubleshoot problems without compromising the rest of the computer. Furthermore, this configuration makes it possible to rule out that the fault is in the basic configuration and that the device drivers are causing the error. To gain access, a series of steps must be followed. Don’t worry, here we explain step by step what to do.

System Restore

If none of these steps allow you to fix the blue screen of death, there is still one option left. We will be able to restore the system to a state before the error. Please see our tutorial to learn how to do this.

If you still can’t find the error, then you should reinstall Windows from scratch. This is certainly the most radical solution, but every so often there is nothing else to do. Anyway, these are the 7 solutions for the screen of death in Windows. Bye!

If there is one characteristic that defines database managers in Linux, it is robustness. This concept is associated with the reliability of the program. As a consequence, we always have our data available at any time, either through a direct consultation or through an application. However, there are errors that may appear. In this opportunity, I will help you to solve a MySQL or MariaDB error.

Solving the table crashed error on MySQL / MariaDB

When I was going to review the tables at the request of the people who use the administrative system in my work, I came across the following:

“Table is marked as crashed and should be repair”

I had run into this mistake before, so I did not freak out because I knew the solution, but many do not know it. So that’s the reason to make this post.

The origin of this error is different, most likely it was caused by an unexpected restart or shutdown of the MySQL or MariaDB service. That is to say, although it is not a very recurrent error it can cause a headache. It happens in home servers or in local instances where there is an electrical problem. Or where the service stops unexpectedly.

To solve the error, we must use the
mysqlcheck
command. This command is very useful because it allows maintenance operations, optimization and repair of database and tables. And in this case, it is just what we need.

So, tun this command:

:~$ sudo mysqlcheck -u [user] -p --all-databases --auto-repair

The command, which requires superuser privileges, verifies all databases. If it finds a corrupt one, then it will repair it automatically.

However, it is also possible to specify a single database. It is useful if we already know where the damaged table is.

:~$ sudo mysqlcheck -u [user] -p --databases [database] --auto-repair

And with this, that solves the matter. Finally, for this command to work, it is necessary that the MySQL or MariaDB instance is running.

Conclusion

Sometimes some errors can be easily solved but when you do not know the solution there are difficult moments. And if the problem is with the data, even more so. So in this post, we have taught you how to solve a MySQL or MariaDB.

Please share this post with your friends.
