<p>Hello friends, when an app crashes the simplest solutions are usually, reboot the phone, clear the cache, force close. As a last resort, you can use the option to clear the data. This option was useful to solve the Webview problem, a bug in one of the <a href="https://www.osradar.com/?s=android" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Android </a>components that caused the unexpected closing of the apps that used it. Although it is very useful it is necessary to use it carefully because its effects tend to be destructive. <strong>You can even lose the progress and configuration of the app</strong>. It is different from deleting the cache memory which you can delete without any problem. That&#8217;s why in this post we will show you how to delete app data on <a href="https://www.android.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Android</a>.</p>

<h2>First step</h2>

<p>To delete app data there are different ways, the easiest one which has become standard on most Android phones is to <em>long tap on the app icon and tap on the app info icon</em>.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="473" height="1024" src="//1081754738.rsc.cdn77.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Da01-473x1024.jpg" alt="long tap on the app icon and tap on the app info icon delete" class="wp-image-30457" srcset="https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Da01-473x1024.jpg 473w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Da01-138x300.jpg 138w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Da01-768x1664.jpg 768w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Da01-709x1536.jpg 709w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Da01-945x2048.jpg 945w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Da01-696x1508.jpg 696w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Da01-1068x2314.jpg 1068w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Da01.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 473px) 100vw, 473px" /><figcaption>long tap on the app icon and tap on the app info icon</figcaption></figure>

<h2>Second step</h2>

<p>Once in the<em> app info settings</em>, you can click on <em>storage </em>and press the &#8220;<em>clear data button</em>&#8220;. Remember that the location of this function may vary depending on the version of Android and the manufacturer of your device.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="473" height="1024" src="//1081754738.rsc.cdn77.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Da02-473x1024.jpg" alt="click on storage delete app" class="wp-image-30458" srcset="https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Da02-473x1024.jpg 473w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Da02-138x300.jpg 138w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Da02-768x1664.jpg 768w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Da02-709x1536.jpg 709w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Da02-945x2048.jpg 945w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Da02-696x1508.jpg 696w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Da02-1068x2314.jpg 1068w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Da02.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 473px) 100vw, 473px" /><figcaption>click on storage</figcaption></figure>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="473" height="1024" src="//1081754738.rsc.cdn77.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Da03-473x1024.jpg" alt=" press the &quot;clear data button&quot; delete app" class="wp-image-30459" srcset="https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Da03-473x1024.jpg 473w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Da03-138x300.jpg 138w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Da03-768x1664.jpg 768w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Da03-709x1536.jpg 709w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Da03-945x2048.jpg 945w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Da03-696x1508.jpg 696w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Da03-1068x2314.jpg 1068w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Da03.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 473px) 100vw, 473px" /><figcaption> press the &#8220;clear data button&#8221;</figcaption></figure>

<h2>Third step</h2>

<p>Another way would be to go to the <em>settings </em>of your device, then look for the <em>app manager.</em> After that, locate the app you want to clear the data, this way you will get to the app info and you can easily clear the app data.</p>

<p>Microsoft has released a new Windows 10 update with flaws. These have caused some problems for users of the system. Due to the difficulty, Microsoft recommends not to install the latest update. And in case they have already done so, they will remove it. </p>

<p><a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="System upgrade number KB4535996 for Windows 10 (opens in a new tab)" href="https://windowsmen.com/windows-10-update-kb4535996-is-not-available-to-everyone/" target="_blank">System upgrade number KB4535996 for Windows 10</a> was released at the end of February. It brought solutions for problems in search functionality, printing and battery performance. However, the drawbacks of the update adversely affect just the issues they were trying to fix.</p>

<p>Users themselves report difficulties. They also report via the Internet that their computers have problems starting up. Also, momentary blockages and black screens. As well as audio problems, program crashes and non-functioning of basic parameters.</p>

<p>Faced with the complicated situation, <a href="https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="Microsoft (opens in a new tab)">Microsoft </a>responded that the only solution is to remove the update. The company assumed its errors but has not yet published a solution for improving the system. In view of this, the affected people should immediately remove the update.</p>

<blockquote class="wp-block-quote is-style-large"><p> &#8220;If you have problems or receive errors related to this mechanism, you can uninstall the optional update KB4535996&#8221; </p><cite>Microsoft official statement</cite></blockquote>

<p>The official statement delivered by the company in response to this problem was as follows:<br>
&#8220;We are aware of problems with signtool.exe, after installing the latest optional update for Windows 10 version 1903, Windows 10 version 1909 (KB4535996)(…) If you have problems or receive errors related to this mechanism, you can uninstall the optional update KB4535996&#8221;.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://windowsmen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/update-1672346_1280-1024x682.png" alt="" class="wp-image-989"/></figure>

<p>With these words, the company assumes your error but does not offer a solution for now. However, this enhancement is &#8220;optional&#8221;, so it will not be installed automatically. Therefore the difficulties should not affect many users around the world. While the company is developing a new update to fix the issues, it is best to follow the recommendations. </p>
