To help with the global crisis, Microsoft provides its tools to companies on a free six-month subscription, so that employees can work from anywhere. COVID-19 has sown chaos among the world’s population by quarantining part of the citizenry. This has led to employees of several companies not being able to go to their jobs.

According to the WHO, coronaviruses (CoV) are a broad family of viruses that can cause a variety of conditions, from the common cold to more serious illnesses. COVID-19 is the most recently discovered infectious disease caused by the coronavirus. Both the new virus and the disease were unknown before the outbreak in Wuhan, China, in December 2019.

At Microsoft, the health and safety of employees, customers, partners and communities is our top priority. By making Teams available to all for free for six months, we hope that we can support public health and safety by making remote work even easier. https://t.co/e8aaocLzYD
— JP Courtois (@JP_Courtois) March 3, 2020

Microsoft provides Team, your teleworking tool

Specifically, the initiative is for one of its most useful tools: Microsoft Teams. Included within Office 365. Teams offer possibilities for communication and collaborative work. It has encrypted instant messaging. Necessary for sensitive business data. It also allows for audio and video conferences. With members of the organization and outside the company. In order to organize meetings without risk of contagion.

On the other hand, it allows collaborative work. A ‘Team’ can be created and documents can be shared in real-time with the work team. In this, all the members will be able to visualize, edit and save the work done. All this without the need for review meetings. That again would put at risk the health.

Teams also have a connection with third-party applications and the manager of mail and calendar. In this way, you can view the availability of colleagues to agree on virtual appointments. Microsoft is aware of what it means to work from anywhere and therefore creates cloud solutions that allow you to connect and work. We hope that strategies will continue to be generated to counteract the effects of this virus on daily life. Also, we hope you remember to go through our last post on increasing the transparency of user privacy in Windows 10.
