On the other hand, this action can be done on any computer using Windows 10. Consequently, it is possible to bypass blocks on limited Wi-Fi networks. In addition, this is a manual process and without using any third party tools. It is also very safe, as you can always return to the MAC address of the hardware. How to know the MAC address in Windows 10

The MAC address of a computer is a 48-bit identifying number separated into blocks of 6 pairs. In reality, this value does not correspond directly to the computer. It belongs to the adapter used to connect to the network. Consequently, most computers have two different MAC addresses. That is, one address assigned to the Ethernet network adapter and another for the wireless adapter.

On the other hand, you can check the MAC address from the properties of each adapter. You can also use the command prompt to look up this information.

The first thing you have to do is launch a System Symbol. With this intention, press the Win+R combination and run the following command.

Once there, please run the following:

ipconfig /all

In this example, we will see the information related to the wireless network adapter. To do this, scroll down until you find it. You can see the name of the adapter within the Description. Also, the MAC address is present in the Physical Address:

How to change the MAC address of a network adapter

It is certainly possible to change the MAC address of a computer using third-party programs. However, this time we will do it manually. So the first thing you have to do is open the Device Manager. With this intention, press the Win+X combination. Then select the option:

Then double-click on the device. Now select the Advanced tab. Once there, you can see different values. Please click on Network Address. In the right column is the Value option with a blank space. Please check Value option and add desired MAC address.

As we mentioned, this process is totally reversible. To return to the original MAC address, please repeat the above process. But now select Not Present in the Network Address section.

In this way, the value entered in the Network Address property of your computer’s adapter will have no effect. That’s how easily you can change the MAC address in Windows 10 to bypass any limitations set on a shared network.
