We can say that data backup copies are necessary. In fact, they are very useful to have files of all kinds saved. In addition, they prevent them from being lost in case of a computer attack. Or in case a computer crashes or anything else. But certain mistakes should be avoided. Therefore, we are going to tell you some of the most common ones. These are the mistakes you should not make if you want to protect your files correctly. You can create a copy of all the content on your mobile or computer, and save it in the cloud or on a hard drive. In case you need it in the future, you will be able to access that content. The goal is that it is available there and that no additional problems have occurred.

10 Data Backup Mistakes That Could Ruin Your Day

Not all backups are the same. In fact, you may make a small one, a much larger one, another one simply of certain folders, etc. But whatever the type of backup you are going to make, it is advisable to check some aspects that we are going to show you in order to avoid problems.

Have only one copy

This is a common mistake. We create a security copy of the files we have, and we think it is enough. It is clear that one data backup is better than none at all. However, the ideal is to have at least two. What happens if that backup copy has a problem just when you are going to need it? You would be left without the files.

For example, a good idea is to have two physical disks in different locations. It is also interesting to have a physical copy and another in the cloud. The idea is to have an alternative in case one fails. This way it will not happen that you have lost all the content.

Using an unreliable platform

By this we mean the use of the cloud. There are many options on the Internet. However, not all of them are reliable. You could be using an insecure service that does not use good encryption. That means your files could be at risk. As a result, your backup could be exposed to anyone.

What you should do is to check very well which platform you use. Some like Google Drive or Dropbox are very popular and work well, but there are more. You can read reviews and ratings, to analyze if it is really reliable or not.

Not having a copy plan

It is a good idea to plan well when to create backups: Once a day? Once a week? This decision will depend on each case. However, you should at least have an idea so that you don’t spend too much time. So making such a backup can save your files from being lost forever in case something happens.

Logically, the more frequently you make these copies, the better. The less likely you are to lose a file before you have backed it up to your hard drive or the cloud platform you use.

Do not look at safety

Security is key. We come back to the same thing: beware of cloud platforms that do not meet minimum security standards. Avoid using pages that you find and that you have not checked well. You don’t really know if your files are going to be properly protected. Moreover, in case of a vulnerability you could have problems.

Therefore, always check the security very well. Type of encryption, that the applications are up-to-date, the way in which you can share the files with third parties, etc. Everything can have an influence.

Poor quality storage appliances

In this case, we are talking about physical disks where we can save the copies. Having one of poor quality can be a major problem. Do not buy a cheap one without really knowing what it is like. It could work well today. However, in a few months or a few years it may stop working, and you may lose everything you have stored.

A clear example is memory cards. In many cases, these cards are of very poor quality and do not have a long life span. The same can also happen with larger hard disks.

Small space

Backup copies will require more or less space, depending on what you need. It is not the same to create a data backup of just text documents, as it is to create a backup of the entire cell phone. Or the entire computer where you have many files of all kinds stored.

Think carefully about what space you need and choose a platform that suits your needs. If you are going to buy a hard disk, do not fall short. It is possible that today 1 TB is enough, for example, but maybe in 1 or 2 years you will need 2. Better to buy a 2 TB disk first and not have space problems soon.

Do not automate copies

Automating backups is interesting, and a mistake is not taking this option into account. For example, you may have a NAS server that allows you to schedule a backup every day at a certain time. Also, the new photos that you have on your cell phone can be copied directly when you connect to Wi-Fi.

This prevents you from forgetting to make copies. There is nothing better than uploading files automatically or shortly after creating or modifying them. You will always have up-to-date backups available.

Having little information on the data backup

This mistake may be related to others we have seen before. Basically, it is to hire a cloud service or buy a hard drive, but without having much information. Ideally, you should be well-informed, read reviews and reports from other people who have previously used it.

Once you have all the necessary information, then proceed to use that service to create your backups. You will avoid using one that does not work properly in the future and with which you may have problems.

Using something obsolete

This can happen both when using the cloud, and when buying a physical hard drive. Beware of this. In effect, it could mean that it stops working properly, that you don’t receive updates, or that you have general problems when using it. It is always best to use something that is currently supported and not obsolete.

In the case of hard drives, avoid buying a very old model, even if you see that it is cheap. It is better to opt for a more recent one. This allows you to both secure and improve performance when you are going to save files.

Sharing with the wrong people

Yes, this is another mistake when it comes to using the cloud and having backups. Maybe you decide to share something with someone else and what you do is upload everything to the cloud. The problem is that not only could that person misuse what you share, but they could attack your account and get to your files.

Therefore, it is advisable to limit who you share files with on the Internet. Always check who you are giving permissions to. Also limit those permissions to only certain files and change them once they have downloaded the content.

As you can see, there are certain mistakes to avoid when creating data backups. This can affect whether you use the cloud, as if you save the content physically. Always check everything very well, and you will not have problems impacting your files.

Greetings friends! Nowadays, it is not superfluous to back up your apps, settings, and configurations to Google One. So that you won’t lose your data if something happens to your phone. Even if you don’t change your phone often. It’s a good idea to have a recent backup of your device in case something happens to it. And you find yourself needing to replace it. In many cases, you just need to back it up to Google One. This is also the backup that Google asks you to restore every time you set up your new smartphone for the first time. It will copy important data from your cell phone, such as contacts, apps, etc. If you lose your phone or decide to factory reset it, you will be able to restore this backup. Thus saving you the process of re-downloading all your apps and phone settings tediously. In this post, we will show you how to create a backup using Google One on your Android phone.

How to make a backup in Google One

Google One, is the name Google gives to the group of platforms and services that make up its cloud storage offering. Which allows any Android user to back up different sections of their smartphone.

Just follow these steps:

First step

Download and install the Google One app by following the link below:

Google Play | Google One

Download and install the Google One app

Second step

Then run the Google One app on your Android device.

Then run the Google One app on your Android device.

Third step

After that, tap the “Backup” button.

Fourth step

Finally, tap “Back up now”.

As you saw before backing up, the app allows you to control which parts should or should not be included in this backup. You can include incoming MMS messages, as well as images and videos taken with the device. As well as copies of SMS and MMS messages and call logs. It also includes device settings such as wallpaper, saved Wi-Fi network passwords, fonts used, and other settings. To back up photos on your device, Google One directs you to Google Photos, which Google says is the best tool you can use.

Other types of backup

Generally, most phones have a secondary method for backing up your device, and some manufacturers often include a utility in their customization layer that even saves it locally. For example, Xiaomi has two different ways to create a backup, you can store it in the company’s cloud or create a local copy that you can transfer to external storage for handheld use without the Internet.

We have previously talked about backups in Windows 11. In fact, we showed the general definition. Also, the types and differences. Certainly, we analyzed in depth on their importance and relevance. Today, we are going to unravel how to make backups copies in Windows 11

Backups from Windows options

Windows 11 has in its configuration a basic backup system based on OneDrive. Actually, it has almost no options. It will simply help you store folders, your apps, and your settings in the cloud. To access the option, you have to click on the Accounts section of Windows Settings. And once you are inside, click on the Windows Backup option. Note that you can access it by pressing the Win+I combination.

You will enter a window where you can enable or disable the ability to remember your applications and preferences. You will also be able to store your settings and installed apps. Finally, you will be able to recover them later if you reset the computer. In addition to these two options, you have the option to Manage sync settings at the top.

If you click on Manage sync settings, you will be able to choose which folders you can back up. In this case, the contents of the Desktop and Documents folders will always be backed up, and you can decide whether you want to back up what you have in the Pictures folder as well. And that’s really all there is to it.

Make an advanced backup in Windows 11

You also have another native tool for more advanced copy types. However, it is quite hidden. This is a tool inherited from Windows 7. To open it, you have to go into the Control Panel of previous versions of Windows. This can be done by typing Control Panel when you open the Start menu.

Once you are inside the control panel, click on the option Backup and Restore (Windows 7) that will appear in the System and Security section. Remember that You have to click directly on the option. This will appear in small. Please do not click on the name of the section.

This will take you to a screen where you will see the backups you have configured. To create a new one, click on the Set up backup option that will appear with a shield. Consequently, this is a sign that you will need administrator permissions to use the option.

Preparing the backing

This will open the process for creating a backup. In the first window, you will have to choose the external drive you want to back up. For this, it will show you all the ones you have connected, and you will have to select one and click on the Next button.

In the next screen, you will be able to choose which folders you want to copy or let Windows choose them for you. By default, Windows 11 will only make copies of your library folders. Once you have selected the ones you want, click on Next.

In case you choose the option to let you choose which folders to save, you will go to an explorer window. Once there, you can select the folders you want from the ones you have on your hard disk.

Once you have chosen the destination and the content, you will go to a screen where you will be able to schedule the copies. By default, they will be made every Sunday. Once this is configured, you only have to click on the Save settings and run backup to make the backup.

And in the case that you click on Change schedule to choose the days on which you want to do it, you can choose to make the copies daily, weekly or monthly. Simply decide the day of the week on which they are made and the time you want them to run automatically.

Third-party tools for Windows backups

As you can see, the two native tools available for Windows are quite basic. They will probably not be enough for you. If that is the case, here is a short list with some third-party applications that you can use to make more advanced backups. With them, you will be able to configure more types of backups and have more control over them.

EaseUS Todo Backup Free 2022: It allows you to make various types of backups of individual files, folders, partitions, or entire storage units. Additionally, it offers a smart mode that copies files from the most frequently used locations. On the other hand, backups can be copied, and made incremental, differential or full.

Veeam: Veeam is a company focused on offering paid backup suites. However, it also has some free ones. We have Veeam Backup Free Edition for virtual machines, Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows for Windows devices. In addition to and Veeam Agent for Linux among several other free tools.

Paragon Backup & Recovery: This is an application that tries to make the process of configuring a backup as simple as possible. Despite this, it is not lacking in options. In fact, it allows you to make backups of the entire computer, partitions, directories, and files. You can also choose the type of backup you want to make.

Bacula: A suite of applications that provide an open source alternative for anyone looking for a backup tool. It also works for both servers and home computers.

FBackup: Its interface is not very attractive. On the other hand, the free version lacks options such as incremental or encrypted backups. Even so, it is a simple tool to use and allows you to easily schedule regular backups. On the other hand, it has a paid version in case you need to squeeze more out of it.

Very well, in this way we have seen How to make backups copies in Windows 11. Bye!

Hello! Today, we will see a guide with everything you need to know about backups in Windows 11. This way you will be able to know these systems to protect your data and be able to recover them later. The idea is that if you have never delved into this topic, you will have a practical explanation of what backups are and how you can make them. Therefore, we will begin by briefly explaining what backups are and what they are for. Then we will tell you the types of backups you can make. Plus some things to keep in mind before making them. Stay reading to learn more about backup copies in Windows 11.

What are backups, and what are they for?

Your computer stores all the data you have on it on the hard disk. This includes your photos and even your videos. As well as for settings and any kind of adjustments. Certainly, everything should work correctly. However, there may be glitches and problems that cause something to go wrong. With the consequent partial loss of the data you have.

Problems can range from a single software or hardware failure. But they also include a virus infection that corrupts files or ransomware that blocks access to the computer. It can also be a bad update that causes something to break at the operating system level. Consequently, it causes a malfunction. Such a situation can be a catastrophe. Especially when files are lost due to these failures. One way to avoid this is to make copies of the most important files or computer settings. You can also make a complete copy of everything, from files to settings. This is what we call a backup.

On the other hand, the process of applying this backup and regenerating the state is known as restoring the backup. It can also be useful in case you have changed or reset your computer. There are many types of backups. There are some superficial ones. For example, saving photos from your computer to an external hard drive. There are also more complete ones. In fact, some are made by Windows itself on an external drive that you assign to it. In this case, they are all packed in specific files. Certainly, we are talking about a single file, and inside are all the other files that make up the copy.

What types of data should you include in the backup?

An important aspect is that these backups should not be indiscriminate. That is, they should focus on storing only essential files. Your computer stores a large amount of data. However, many programs and applications make their internal backups by storing this data in your user profile. As a result, they are automatically recovered. Therefore, saving this type of data is a waste of storage space.

However, what is considered important data will depend on the individual. Certainly, each of us has an opinion about the type of files or documents we consider significant or essential. In addition, you can also make copies of other files in the cloud. So you can save photos and other documents to services such as Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive or Apple iCloud.

All the things you save in the cloud should not need to be saved also in the internal backups you make on Windows. In fact, you will always be able to recover them from the cloud as well. Unless you feel safer adding another backup within Windows.

Backups can be made inside your hard drive or on an external drive. Actually, it is recommended to do them on external storage units. This way, you make sure that they are not affected by any virus or malware that could infect your computer. This way you can also have them well located somewhere physical. So you will be able to use them whenever you need them.

Finally, you should know that there are two ways in which you can make backup copies on Windows. The first is by using the internal tool offered by Windows 11 itself to create copies. And the second is by using third-party applications. These are specifically created to allow you to make backups.

Types of backups

When making a backup, one of the decisions you must make is the type of backup it will be. Indeed, the way in which the data is stored will depend on it. There are four types of backups you can make. Moreover, using one or the other depends mainly on the amount of storage you have. It also depends on how much time you want to spend on it, or simply on the way you work. Here are these four types.

Listing

Full backup: This is the most basic type of backup. It simply copies all data to a single external storage drive. Therefore, the time it takes to restore them afterwards is much less. On the downside, however, the process of making the full backup is slower. Besides that, it is also the one that requires more space in the unit where we are going to do it. These are the copies that Windows 10 makes by default.

Incremental backup: This type of backup only copies the data that has changed since the last backup you performed. Therefore, leaving the rest intact. To do it the computer uses the dates and times of modification. Consequently, by only copying the data from the computer that you have modified, it is much faster to make than a full backup. Also, since some space is already taken up by previous copies, it requires less space than if you simply made a second full copy.

Differential backup: This is a type of backup very similar to the incremental backup. However, instead of taking as a reference the last backup, whatever it is, it will take the last full backup. This means that it will only copy the data that has been modified since the last full backup. Also, even if you have recently made other differential backups, it will always copy the modified data from the full backup.

Mirror backup: It is a type of backup similar to the full backup. But in this case, it only clones the files you copy without compressing them. This means that they take up more space and are more insecure because they cannot be password protected. But in exchange, you gain a little more speed in the restoration.

Some additional recommendations

The above are the main four types of backups you will encounter. However, there may be more. There may also be fewer, vary or change names. Actually, it all depends on the tool you are going to use to make the backups. A useful tip is to try to combine several types of backups. For example, instead of making full backups on a whim, you can supplement them with incremental or differential backups. This way, you will keep the files that have not changed. So you can save time when making backups.

There is also another type of backup you can do. We are talking about system images. This type of backups make exact copies of how your hard drive is. Additionally, they include the state of your operating system and the files on it. With them, you can then recover the exact state your computer was in when the copy was made. Even if you format everything and leave it without an operating system.

Choose what type of data to save in your copy

As we told you a little above, each of us has our own opinion about which data we consider important. Therefore, this influences which ones we want to keep in the backups. We are going to try to tell you some tips to help you prioritize the types of data. However, this is always going to depend on the individual and their situation. In addition to, aspects such as the storage available for backup can help you decide, especially in the case of limited storage.

If you have little space, then it is best to give priority to professional or personal documents. Especially if you don’t have them stored anywhere else. It may also be advisable to save project documents, jobs of various types or e-mails that you have downloaded via POP3. Remember that in this case, they may have been deleted from the server of your email account when you downloaded them.

The importance of multimedia files

In the case of photos, it all depends on our level of insecurity. You may store them on a separate drive or in the cloud. In such a case, it is not strictly necessary to store them in the backups. Indeed, you can retrieve them from those other sites. Your personal photos and videos may be among the items that take up the most space. That is, you can save them elsewhere unless you have a lot of space left on the drive where you will be backing them up.

And then there are the multimedia files you may have downloaded from the internet. We’re talking about everything from music and videos to more random ones. If they are files that you can re-download with relative ease, there is no need to spend space on backing them up. If not, then you can consider copying them to another external storage drive. But in any case, they should be last on your priority list.

But as we have told you several times, it all depends on your personal opinion. Particularly on what you consider essential files. What you should do is ask yourself what you would want to be saved if your computer was lost or crashed right now. Surely, in the answer to this question, you can find out what your priorities are. Consequently, this will help you to set up your backups.

It is becoming increasingly important, and we are more aware of how necessary it is to keep our data safe. Therefore, more and more users are turning to back up programs. The data we have on our computer is always susceptible to being deleted by carelessness. Therefore, the data we have on the computer is always susceptible to being deleted by carelessness. Consequently, let’s take a look at the best programs to make a backup.

What is backup

A backup is a copy of physical or virtual files that we make in a secondary location. This can be an external hard drive or cloud for preservation and later use in case of need. It must be considered that our computer may be exposed to the risk that it may stop working at any time. Therefore, the data on our hard disk may become corrupted or lost in case of failure. As soon as the hardware inside the PC stops working, the data may be lost. It is therefore important to make a backup of our most important files. In this way, we avoid data loss and ensure that we can recover them if necessary.

It is important to mention that these copies should be made periodically and not on an unplanned basis. In this way, it does not lose its usefulness. Indeed, a backup copy that is one year old will probably be of little use to us. Chances are that much of your data will be unnecessary and more recent data will be missing.

What to look for in a backup program

Something as important as backing up our most important data cannot be chosen lightly. There are many backup programs. However, we must refine the search to get an excellent one. The first thing to look for in a good backup program is that it supports the different types of backups. That is to say, we can decide if we want to make complete, differential, incremental or mirror copies. It is also critical that it allows us to make copies of both complete hard disks and specific folders that we have on the PC. Indeed, it is likely that we will not always have to make copies of the entire hard disk.

Another fundamental aspect to consider is the programming of these. It is easy that, if we are not used to making the copies ourselves, we forget to launch the program. Therefore, it is important that the program we choose has the possibility of scheduling the copies. In this way, we will be able to select when we want them to be made automatically so that we can forget about them. And also, if an error occurs when making the copy, it will warn us that something has gone wrong so that we can solve it manually.

The best free backup software

Next, we are going to show you a series of backup programs aimed especially at users who don’t want to spend a lot of money. These programs are either completely free or have a free version of them. In general, they are suitable for all types of users who do not want to complicate their life when it comes to making backups.

Hello! The way of working and leisure has changed drastically. Indeed, there is a transition in the process to the digital world. Likewise working in the cloud and accessing the cloud is becoming more and more frequent. In addition, it is advisable to keep backups of individual documents. For example, photos and videos are no longer in a physical format. Therefore, they are digital files that require a backup. So today we will learn how to create backups in the cloud.

How to create cloud backups with Kopia.

Kopia is software that allows you to make backup copies. It is also a multiplatform and open-source tool. Therefore its development is community-driven. On the other hand, the tool has two different versions:

Command Line Interface (CLI): It is a standalone binary in which Kopia is used in a terminal window or with scripts. This is the preferred choice of advanced users and system administrators.

Graphical User Interface (GUI): A desktop application with graphical interface called KopiaUI. Consequently, it is easier to use for novice users. In this tutorial we will deal with this version.

How to install Kopia.

We have already told you that this is an open-source program. In addition, we are going to use the GUI with a graphical interface. With this in mind, go to this address. Now, you only have to download the executable file with the .exe extension.

Downloading the GUI version of Kopia for Windows

Then, just install it like any other Windows program.

How to create a local backup with Kopia.

The first step is to create a repository to work with. With this in mind, click on Repository and then Filesystem.

Preparing a local backup with Kopia.

Therefore, we will use Filesystem to work locally. However, it is also possible to manage cloud storage. Therefore, there are options for Google, Amazon S3, Azure Blob or even using an SFTP server. After clicking on Filesystem a new window is displayed. Next, you have to indicate where we want the files of our repository to be stored.

Repository path configuration

Then you have to enter the password twice. Additionally, you can manage other elements such as encryption. Finally, click on create repository.

Creating the repository

Once the repository is created, it is necessary to add a task. With the intention of copying the files. With this in mind, we click on New snapshot.

Next, just add the path and click the Snapshot Now button.

Finally, you can see the files copied to the repository. You can also see the available tasks and policies.

From now on, you only have to check the other options of the program. Anyway, we have seen how to create backups in the cloud. See you soon!

The process of making a backup is something that can save your entire professional life. It is always advisable to do it frequently to avoid data loss either on a server or on your personal computer. So, in this post, I show you some backup tools in Linux. They are mainly oriented for a desktop user.

As a brief introduction, we will say that some of these tools are focused on Ubuntu but also support other distributions. So, let’s get started.

Linux Backup Tools

Back In Time

Back In Time is a simple backup tool for Linux, inspired by “flyback project”. It provides a command-line client ‘backintime’ and a Qt5 GUI ‘backintime-qt’ both written in Python3.

It is very easy to use because you only need to specify 3 things:

Where to save snapshots

What folders to backup

Backup frequency (manual, every hour, every hour, every day, every month)

The installation is mainly focused on Ubuntu and derivatives like Linux Mint. It has versions for Plasma and GNOME that we can install by adding the PPA of the application.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:bit-team/stable
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install backintime-qt4

Then, we can start it from the main menu of the system.

Also, on the Github page, you can see the instructions to compile the program on another distribution and even generate DEB packages.

Grsync

Rsync is a CLi tool that is used by many to perform simple backups. However, the fact that you have to use the console, as well as many of the options can make it not ideal for everyone.

This is why Grsync was born to provide a graphical interface to this command. Although it provides support for the more advanced features of
rsync
, it does allow you to backup your folders quickly.

Sample uses of grsync include: synchronize a music collection with removable devices, backup personal files to a networked drive, replication of a partition to another one, mirroring of files, etc.

To install it on your favorite distribution you have to do it from the default package manager.

So, on Debian, Ubuntu, and derivatives you just need to run

sudo apt update
sudo apt install grsync

In the case of Fedora

sudo dnf install grsync

Or for Arch Linux based distributions

sudo pacman -S grsync

Then, start it from the main menu.

LuckyBackup

This is another tool that uses
rsync
as a backend for backups. But unlike Grsync, it is a more complete and reliable application.

It is simple to use, fast (transfers over only changes made and not all data), safe (keeps your data safe by checking all declared directories before proceeding in any data manipulation ), reliable, and fully customizable.

With LuckyBackup you can set which folders to back up and which not to back up. This increases operation times. It also includes a task scheduler so you can forget about backing up all the time. It even supports remote connections.

To install it on Debian and Ubuntu-based distributions just run

sudo apt update
sudo apt install luckybackup

In the case of Fedora, you have to run

sudo dnf install luckybackup

This way you only have to run it from the main menu.

Conclusion

These applications allow you to make backups in a fast and easy way so you don’t lose data in case of an unforeseen event. Each of them has its advantages and ease of use, now it’s your turn to use them.

Hello! A fundamental task of the information technology department is to keep the system up to date. In addition, it is necessary to maintain the backup of the server. In case of failure, it can cause loss of time and money. Some of these failures can be: power cuts, hardware damage, mishandling of the configuration, virus or malware, etc. Consequently, it is highly recommended having a backup in case of emergency. For that reason, in this post we will see how to backup Windows Server 2019/2016.

How to enable the feature from Windows Server Manager

As mentioned, it is necessary to go to the Windows Server. Once there, click on Add Roles and Features.

Adding Roles and Features

Finally, wait a few moments while installing Windows Server Backup

How to backup Windows Server 2019/2016

Once the feature is enabled, it is time to perform the first backup of the server. With this in mind, from the Windows Server, open the Tools menu and click on Windows Server Backup

Launching Windows Server Backup

Immediately the Windows Server Backup manager will be deployed. In addition, it has 3 backup options. That is, you can schedule the backup, backup once or restore a copy. This time select the Backup Once option

Please select the option to back up once.

Then click on Next to continue.

The wizard then offers two types of support. A complete backup of the server and a customized backup of the items to be saved. For added security, select a full server backup.

Please select the type of backup.

Now please choose the type of backup. That is to say, local backup or in a remote folder

Select the destination type

Now it is time to select the location where the backup will be stored.

Select the location where the windows server backup will be stored.

Finally, you will see a confirmation message. Please check all parameters. Then, click on Backup to start the process.

Press Backup to start the task

Please note that the process may take a while, depending on the size of the backing.

Introduction

In the previous article, we mentioned rsync installation and the use of some of the parameters. If you don’t understand, please read the Synchronous data Using the rsync Command Linux in this article. We learned that rsync works in three modes. The main introduction here is the server model

Server mode:

This model is based on C/S mode, in which rsync enables a daemon in the background that runs permanently on the rsync server to receive file transfer requests, so that clients can either send files to or request them from the daemon. Rsync’s server mode is ideal for use with remote central backup servers or data remote repositories.

Case

To ensure data security, the need for a remote disaster system, the site data at 3 o ‘clock in the morning every day disaster backup to a remote server, because the quantity is very big, every day can only incremental backup, backup only increase of data in the day, when the site after a failure, can be backup to restore data to a great extent.

Solution: this assumes there is A, B two Linux system, A system as A web server, B system as A system of remote disaster backup machine, thus A system is rsyncd server, B system is as A system of remote disaster backup, need to install it in A and B system software, in this way, the rsync daemon running on A system, and can through the system in B daemon crontab to specified by A system backup data regularly, so as to realize the data remote disaster.

System environment

Two virtual machines and Install rsync

server: 172.16.6.116
client: 172.16.6.117

Rsync service configuration

We first need to create rsync’s configuration directory and the necessary configuration files.

Create a profile if none exists

touch /etc/rsyncd.conf

man rsyncd.conf to check the instructions

man rsyncd.conf

Hi, I hope you’re all right. Windows 10 is the most used operating system worldwide. Within that universe of users, there is a wide variety of consumers. Indeed, there is an occasional user who needs the computer for basic activities. He usually has little technical knowledge and is limited to using his computer as it is. On the other hand, there is the average user who is aware of the performance of their system. Now, the stability of the system is a concern of any user. As a matter of fact, there are different methods to recover the system from a malfunction. In this opportunity, we are going to talk about a system image backup. This method allows you to make an integrated copy of all the information available on a disk, including partitions and the boot sector. It also integrates the configurations and applications made within the operating system. For that reason, let’s see how to create and restore a system image backup.

How to create a System Image Backup

The first thing we need to do is go inside the control panel. With this in mind, type control into the search bar
