<h3>Second step</h3>

<p>Then tap 5 times on <em>&#8220;build number&#8221;</em> until the message <em>&#8220;you are now a developer&#8221;</em> appears.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="473" height="1024" src="https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act02-473x1024.png" alt="you are now a developer" class="wp-image-39131" srcset="https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act02-473x1024.png 473w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act02-138x300.png 138w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act02-768x1664.png 768w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act02-709x1536.png 709w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act02-945x2048.png 945w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act02-696x1508.png 696w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act02-1068x2314.png 1068w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act02.png 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 473px) 100vw, 473px" /><figcaption>you are now a developer</figcaption></figure>

<h3>Third step</h3>

<p>After that, go back to <em>Settings </em>and go to <em>System&gt;Developer options.</em><br></p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="473" height="1024" src="https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act03-473x1024.png" alt="Developer options" class="wp-image-39132" srcset="https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act03-473x1024.png 473w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act03-138x300.png 138w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act03-768x1664.png 768w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act03-709x1536.png 709w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act03-945x2048.png 945w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act03-696x1508.png 696w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act03-1068x2314.png 1068w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act03.png 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 473px) 100vw, 473px" /><figcaption>Developer options</figcaption></figure>

<h3>Fourth step</h3>

<p>Next, swipe down until you find the <em>&#8220;Drawing&#8221;</em> section and select the <em>&#8220;Smallest width&#8221;</em> option.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="473" height="1024" src="https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act04-473x1024.png" alt="Smallest width" class="wp-image-39133" srcset="https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act04-473x1024.png 473w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act04-138x300.png 138w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act04-768x1664.png 768w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act04-709x1536.png 709w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act04-945x2048.png 945w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act04-696x1508.png 696w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act04-1068x2314.png 1068w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act04.png 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 473px) 100vw, 473px" /><figcaption>Smallest width</figcaption></figure>

<h3>Fifth step</h3>

<p>Before continuing, save the smallest width value somewhere because you will need it later to restore the original interface, in case you don&#8217;t like the taskbar.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="473" height="1024" src="https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act05-473x1024.png" alt="smallest width value activate the new Android 13 taskbar" class="wp-image-39134" srcset="https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act05-473x1024.png 473w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act05-138x300.png 138w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act05-768x1664.png 768w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act05-709x1536.png 709w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act05-945x2048.png 945w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act05-696x1508.png 696w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act05-1068x2314.png 1068w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act05.png 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 473px) 100vw, 473px" /><figcaption> smallest width value</figcaption></figure>

<h3>Sixth step</h3>

<p>Finally, change the default value to<em> 600 dp</em> (or higher) and click <em>&#8220;OK&#8221;</em>.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="473" height="1024" src="https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act06-473x1024.png" alt="click &quot;OK&quot; activate the new Android 13 taskbar" class="wp-image-39135" srcset="https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act06-473x1024.png 473w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act06-138x300.png 138w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act06-768x1664.png 768w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act06-709x1536.png 709w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act06-945x2048.png 945w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act06-696x1508.png 696w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act06-1068x2314.png 1068w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act06.png 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 473px) 100vw, 473px" /><figcaption>click &#8220;OK&#8221;</figcaption></figure>

<p>Once this is done, the contents of the screen will change (usually everything will shrink) and the Android 13 taskbar will appear at the bottom edge. The apps that appear in the bar by default are Calls, Messages, Play Store, Chrome, Camera, and App Drawer. However, the bar will generally display the most recent apps.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="473" height="1024" src="https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act07-473x1024.png" alt="How to activate the new Android 13 taskbar" class="wp-image-39136" srcset="https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act07-473x1024.png 473w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act07-138x300.png 138w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act07-768x1664.png 768w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act07-709x1536.png 709w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act07-945x2048.png 945w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act07-696x1508.png 696w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act07-1068x2314.png 1068w, https://www.osradar.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/act07.png 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 473px) 100vw, 473px" /><figcaption>How to activate the new Android 13 taskbar</figcaption></figure>

<p>It should be noted that due to each manufacturer&#8217;s customized versions of Android. This method may not work on devices from brands such as OnePlus, Realme, OPPO, Xiaomi etc.</p>

<h2>How to undo previously made changes</h2>

<p>Not convinced by the result? To remove it, go back to &#8220;<em>Developer options&#8221;</em> on your phone and select <em>&#8220;Smallest width&#8221;</em>. Enter the initial value for this section that you should have saved before. It is usually a value between 350 and 550 dp. Changing the <em>&#8220;Smallest width&#8221;</em> to less than 600 dp will remove the taskbar completely.</p>

<h2>How to add a taskbar on any Android</h2>

<p>You probably noticed the disadvantage of the official method of adding a taskbar on Android. It is that it only works with devices running Android 13 or later. Luckily, there is an application called Taskbar that allows you to have a taskbar on any version of Android (from Android 6.3).</p>

<p>Moreover, it is a free open-source app with no ads you can download it from the following link:</p>

<p><a href="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.farmerbb.taskbar" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Google Play | Taskbar</a></p>

<h2>Conclusion</h2>

<p>The new Android 13 taskbar is a very useful feature to improve productivity and multitasking on devices with large screens. Such as tablets or foldable. This bar allows you to quickly access the most important applications, drag them to the split screen, or hide them when they are not needed. In addition, it adapts to the custom Material You theme and the language of each application. So it&#8217;s not a bad idea to try this feature on your phone. Thanks for reading us, bye!</p>
