Hi, how are you? Instant messaging apps have become a necessity for smartphones. Indeed, they are almost indispensable elements in mobile devices. This is because users find them very attractive for their daily use. Consequently, more and more people are running them. Since they allow to be connected and even more in these times of isolation by the COVID-19. However, some of these apps are mostly used on PCs. Others are created for cell phones but have computer clients. However, in order to manage them, it is necessary to open each app individually. This can become tedious, in addition to having to switch between the smartphone and the computer. However, today we will talk about an app that allows you to manage most of these apps. In fact, it is capable of supporting more than 600 communication programs. So, look at how to manage instant messaging apps with Rambox.

What Rambox is and how it works.

Rambox is a specialized tool for web applications. But it also specializes in online communications. That is to say, web applications that focus on email, instant messaging, and social networking. Consequently, it allows you to centralize them in a single app. For that reason, its usefulness ranges from domestic to professional use. Because whatever your profile is, you will always need to communicate with friends, family, clients, or co-workers.

On the other hand, it is a multi-platform application, since it is available for Windows, Linux, and macOS. Currently, it is available in two versions, one free called Community Edition. And another paid edition called Pro. The free edition has limitations on the number of apps and some features geared towards professional use. However, it is more than sufficient for the home user. Well, you can download any of its versions from this link.

The best thing about Rambox is its customizable menu.

The operation of Rambox is very simple. Once the program is opened it will show the number of apps available to be executed.

List of apps available in Rambox.

Then select the app you want to open, in this case, WhatsApp. Immediately a menu will be displayed to edit the location and notification parameters of the app. Add the service to open the App window.

Set up the app’s aspects

Then configure the service to start.

Configuring WhatsApp en Rambox

Next, the service is active in the form of a tab.

WhatsApp active on a Rambox tab.

The tabbed organization is a very useful feature in this app. In addition, every time you open Rambox, all the services you have started will be automatically opened. This way, you don’t have to open them one by one. On the other hand, you can enable the Don’t Disturb feature to limit notifications. You can also assign a master password for security purposes. This password must be entered every time you open the app. You can also create an account at Rambox. This allows you to sync applications and settings between multiple computers.

Conclusion

As you can see, this program is an ideal alternative to manage instant messaging apps in one. In addition, its security protocols are high as they do not store user credentials. On the other hand, it is a free and open-source app. Finally, we learned how to manage instant messaging applications with Rambox. Before saying goodbye, I invite you to see our post about the best programs to create a <a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="bootable USB.

Hi, how are you? Windows 10 has a huge amount of folders and files. Additionally, as computers get better and storage increases, then the number of files grows. Consequently, nobody likes to lose access to any files. In those cases, there are tools such as folder synchronization programs. These programs allow making security backups in the cloud, being of great help to solve problems in the system. However, today we will talk about a tool that allows synchronizing folders between local drives. Well, in this opportunity we will show you how SyncToy works, a Microsoft application. This app is free and easy to use. And within its functions is that it allows you to synchronize two PC folders in Windows 10.

What is SyncToy and how does it work?

SyncToy is a Microsoft proposal for Windows 10 users. Its main function is to synchronize the content of two folders within the same computer. In addition, it uses an attractive but simple graphic interface to make the task easier. In the first place, download the program from this link. Once the program has been downloaded and installed, this initial window will appear. It asks you to create the new folder to be paired.

Create a new folder to be paired

From now on the folders will be called Left Folder and Right Folder.

Select the folders to be paired

Modes of operation of the program.

From now on, the app offers three different modes of operation. Below, we will briefly detail each one of them.

SyncToy Options

In the first option you will synchronize all files and folders. Consequently, if we delete something from either, it will also be deleted from the other. On the other hand Echo copies all new and updated files from the left to right folder. If we delete or rename a file on the left, it will also be deleted or renamed on the right. Finally, Contribute copies the new and updated files and folders from the left to right. Files renamed from the first one will also be renamed to the right, but no files or folders will be deleted in either. Consequently, when you delete a file in the left folder, it will not be deleted on the right. Once the corresponding option has been selected, it is necessary to assign a name to the pair.

Assign the name to the pair

Then the process of synchronizing the data within the folder will begin. I wait a few seconds according to the size of the folder.

Folder Synchronization

Conclusion

Finally, we have seen how to synchronize two folders inside the PC in Windows 10. From now on, you only have to manually activate the synchronization process. This is a great tool for managing the content of two tools. In addition, it is an app provided by Microsoft and it is free. I hope you enjoyed this post.
Hi, how are you? If you’ve used the older versions of Windows, you may know the PowerToys. This is a collection of computer applications provided by Microsoft for the Windows operating system. Similarly, they are not integrated into Windows, as their release date was later than that of the operating system. There is also no specific technical support for the collection since they are not subjected to the same tests as the rest of the operating system components. But perhaps its most interesting feature is that they were available until Windows XP. However, since April 2019, the Microsoft team relaunched the project with the MIT license for Windows 10. So in this post, we will see how to install PowerToys on Windows 10.

Downloading and installing the PowerToys

As we will see, this is a simple procedure that will allow any user to enjoy some extra features. Additionally, it has the advantage of not having to modify the Windows registry. Well, please go to this link to download the tools.

Microsoft PowerToys download page

Once the file is downloaded, just double click on it to start the installation.

Initial PowerToys installation screen.

You then accept the terms of the license. Press Next to continue.

Then choose the installation folder. It is also possible to add a shortcut to the desktop. Finally, you can schedule the application to start automatically when Windows starts.

Choose the Windows installation folder.

Once the preparations are done, the wizard will start the installation.

By clicking on the icon, you will enter the general configuration of the program. In addition, the available and installed PowerToys are shown.

Hi, you may not know it, but it’s still possible to upgrade for free to Windows 10. It’s been more than 5 years since Windows 10 debuted in July 2015. At that time, users of Windows 7, and 8.1 were offered the opportunity to make the jump to Windows 10 for free. Indeed, when Microsoft launched its latest version of the operating system, it did so with an aggressive marketing campaign. As part of this strategy, users were offered free upgrades to their operating systems. This option lasted one year. However, more than 5 years later it is possible to upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 7 or 8.1 for free.

Step 1. Download the Media Creation Tool

In the first place, go to the Microsoft website and download the media creation tool.

Download the Media Creation Tool

Execute the tool.

Once the tool has been downloaded, simply run it normally. Please note that for this method to work, you have to do a normal update. In this way, the license you use with Windows 7 or 8.1 will be upgraded to activate Windows 10. As a matter of fact , if you upgrade from scratch, you need to add a valid Windows 10 license. In other words, you’d have to pay. So after accepting the license, then select the option Upgrade this PC now

Select the option to upgrade the pc.

Then the wizard will start downloading the operating system. It will also check if your computer is compatible to install the system. In addition, it will probably present a list of problematic programs with the update. It is up to you to uninstall them or proceed with the upgrade. Please remember to choose the option Keep personal files and apps. This will validate Windows 10 with the system key. Also, the version that will be installed will be the same one you were using. That is, Windows 10 Home, Pro, Enterprise or Education

Step 3. Finish the installation

As the installer does his job, then the computer will restart several times. I assume that your system is legally activated, so no activation key will be required. Please remember to choose the option Keep personal files and apps. This validates Windows 10 with the system key. Also, the version that will be installed will be the same one you were using. That is Windows 10 Home, Pro, Enterprise or Education. Once the wizard finishes its work, Windows 10 is successfully installed. As an additional note, if during the update process the system is not active, then you can do it manually. To do so, press the Win+I combination to enter the settings.

Entering update and security

Then follow the path below:Update & Security>Activation. Once there, connected to the Internet the PC will be activated with a digital license. Or as an alternative option, you can add your Windows 7 or 8.1 key if the device is not yet activated.

Ultimately we have seen how to upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 7 or 8.1 for free. This is very useful for Windows 7 users since its support ends in January 2020. This is all for now, before saying goodbye I invite you to see our post about DNS in Android.

Greetings, I think everyone stumbles upon a time where they wish they had logged out of their Gmail accounts before handing out their phone to someone. Since Google encompasses the most information (in Android Phones), anyone can fall in this position where they wish they had logged out of at least their main accounts. As the main accounts usually store all the photos, passwords, app information, hangouts, basically more than 50% of your mobile data.

So, in today’s post, I’ll show you how you can easily log out from all, or some of your devices remotely. You just have to execute the following steps :

How to logout from all/selected devices (Google) – From Laptop

Open your google chrome home page.

Select Google apps.

3. Scroll down in the menu, and find the “Account” option.

4. When your Google account opens, select the security option.

5. Scroll down the Security Menu and find “Your devices”. Open your device’s menu by clicking manage devices.

6. Select the device you want to logout your Google account, and sign out of the device.

7. Sign out of the device.

You can do the same using your phone. While using the phone, you just have to open Google, and select “My account” from the top right corner drop-down menu. After that, you just have to follow the same steps to logout from your Google account.

You can sign out from all your devices by changing your password, again, from the security section and then choosing the “Logout from all devices” option. That will ensure that your Google account is not being used elsewhere.

Tip: To save the maximum of your data going into the wrong hands, and for preserving it, make sure you update your important information on your Google account regularly.

Well, that’s it for today, be sure to check out How to add SetupVPN extension to your Google Chrome, to access most of the internet.

Hello, nice to meet you again. This time we will talk to you about a software that some time ago, it was considered incompatible with windows. As a matter of fact, the philosophy behind developing Linux and hence Open Free, sometimes antagonize with the idea of Microsoft developing its software in general. This is not an article to compare Windows with Linux, neither to affirm which one is better than other. For now, all we can say is each one has its advantages and its defects. Correspondingly, if an average window´s user wishes to try a Linux installation, he only could try a fresh installation or maybe give a chance an installation in Virtual Machine. However, these options involve a medium or maybe an advanced user to running it, being difficult to most of the users.

On the other hand, technology move on, the time evolve and things change. For example, now it is possible to use Ubuntu Bash on Windows (please check our article about Visual Studio Code Studio, when we explain how to do it). Additionally, we have reached a point where a Linux installation into Windows 10 is a real possibility and there is the basis of this article.

How to install Q4OS 3.8 Centaurus from Windows 10

In the first place, we need to know what is Q4OS 3.8 Centaurus, according to its official site it is about a fast and powerful operating system based on the latest technologies while offering a highly productive desktop environment. They focus on security, reliability, long-term stability and conservative integration of verified new features. It is a Debian based distribution offering with Plasma and Trinity as the desktop´s environment. But, the most interesting about it, is that includes windows installation to perform it as a regular executable application. So go for it, download the installer from here, and run it.

Downloading Q4OS Linux installer for Windows

It is important to realize, that the installer is very intuitive and it will be downloading, extracting and expanding the target image file. Once we double-click on it, a window be appear with installation options, here we can choose drive destination of the installation, installation size, language, username, and password.

Q4OS Centaurus Installer

We select installation options and press Install in order to it begins to download and extracting the necessary files to complete the job. It could take a time, from a minute up to an hour depending on the disk size selected, or connection speed, so we need to be patient.

Downloading files

Extracting files

Once the installation process has finished, close the installer window and restart the computer.

Installation complete, reboot to see the changes

First booting

The first boot takes a little more time than usual, inasmuch as the system is configuring the necessary services to work properly. Besides, the linux operative system will be booting directly to a splash screen where we have to enter the password.

Splash screen on Q4OS

Once we had entered the password, we starting to configure Q4OS as we like, principally with the apps an updates necessary to correct the performing of the system. Then we need to reboot the system, to apply the changes. After this restart, the computer will boot with a grub menu with Windows and Q4OS, and we can choose any of them.

Grub menu with Windows and Q4OS System to boot

Well, we already have Windows and Q4OS installed and we can boot any of them. It is important to realize, that the installer allows us to run it directly without having to modify the disk. For this reason, Q4OS offers an alternative to those novice users who want to try Linux without complications. Below we will show you some images of Q4OS already installed.

Q4OS with Plasma Desktop Environment

Exploring files in Q4OS

Now, if we want to uninstall the system we just launch the “q4os-winsetup.exe” installer once again and the Q4OS uninstall wizard starts. The uninstaller removes the Q4OS installation completely, so our computer will be reverted into its original status as before installation. In conclusion, we talk about a great and simple option to explore a free operating system.

Hello, I hope you are fine!. When we install Windows 10, by default, It comes with some features enabled and another disabled. As a matter of fact, a fresh installation of Windows, have optimal resources for everyday users. On the other hand, if you consider yourself an expert user or simply, one app asking for it, then you can enable/disable windows features as you will.

Enabling/disabling Windows 10 features

The first thing to do is type Control Panel in the bar search to go to Control Panel. Once there, select programs.

Control Panel. Programs

In the next windows, we have to select Turn Windows features on or off

Control Panel. Programs

Next, we will see a box with the list of Windows features with a checkbox next to it. If a feature has a checkmark next to it, it means that it is enabled. When it does not have a checkmark, it wants to say it is disabled. Finally, if you see a filled box it means that the function contains multiple sub-functions and only some of them have been enabled. We can expand the function to see which of its subfunctions are and are not enabled. This is the easy way of turn windows features on or of

Some of them and their use

Hyper V: This is a Microsoft virtualization tool. Includes the underlying platform and services and a graphical Hyper-V Administrator tool for creating, managing and using virtual machines

Internet Information Server Core hospedable Web: It allows hosting a web server using IIS within its own process. You only need to install this if you need to run an application that requires it

Windows Subsystem for Linux: In my opinion, this is one of the most interesting features. In order to run Ubuntu in Windows 10, we must enable this feature. In future tutorials, we will refer to this new functionality.

This is it for now! Please take a look at our tutorial about install Python 3 in Windows 10.
