Apple TV is set to launch on the 1st of November, after which the streaming services will be available on all devices. The Apple TV app, apart from Roku, Amazon, and all other Apple devices (iPhones, iPads, Macs, etc.), it’ll also be available on Samsung smart TVs, and would be available “in the future” to TVs from Vizio, Sony  and LG, according to Apple.

The Apple TV app, also works with Fire TV’s built in Alexa to allow voice searches for particular shows. Apple has announced 9 original shows, all of which will be launching on 1st November, reportedly premiering with their first three episodes with new one’s arriving weekly. The most talked about shows among these being “The Morning Show”, starring Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston, and Steve Carell; “See”, starring Jason Momoa; and “Dickinson”, based on the life of Emily Dickinson.

How to access Gboard settings

There are two ways to do it, the shorter one is, click on any text box, where Gboard will appear.

2. Open language & input

One of the more prevalent tricks, is to reinstall your apps, which gets rid of the extra space they were taking due to their updates. Sometimes, an app, which was taking up 500mb gets reduced to a meager 50-60mb after re-installation. But, let’s face it, this process, takes longer time, isn’t a permanent solutionn, consumes more data, and you have to login to all those apps, all over again.

Therefore, the better option is, to uninstall the pre-installed apps. You can also “uninstall all updates” in case you use the app, but only very rarely.

To uninstall the pre-installed software, you just have to follow these steps :

How to uninstall pre-installed apps and updates

1. Open your mobile’s settings.

2. Open “Apps and Notifications” menu.

3. Expand the apps section by clicking on “See all apps”.

4. Choose any unwanted pre-installed app you want to remove. (As an example, I chose the FM Radio app).

5. Open the app and click on “Disable”.

6. Disable the app.

7. Click on “Ok”. (Note : It is not necessary that this would be asked in case of all apps. Only the apps which have been updated, will give this option)

8. The app will be uninstalled.

For those apps, which you use rarely and do not want to uninstall, but do want to reduce their size, you can easily uninstall it’s updates.

You just have to choose the app from the list, click on the top right corner to reveal a drop down menu, and click on “Uninstall updates”. (In my example, I used the pre installed “Maps” application.)

How to logout from all/selected devices (Google) – From Laptop

1. Open your google chrome home page.
2. Select Google apps.

3. Scroll down in the menu, and find the “Account” option.

4. When your Google account opens, select the security option.

5. Scroll down the Security Menu and find “Your devices”. Open your device’s menu by clicking manage devices.

6. Select the device you want to logout your Google account, and sign out of the device.

7. Sign out of the device.

You can do the same using your phone. While using the phone, you just have to open Google, and select “My account” from the top right corner drop-down menu. After that, you just have to follow the same steps to logout from your Google account.

You can sign out from all your devices by changing your password, again, from the security section and then choosing the “Logout from all devices” option. That will ensure that your Google account is not being used elsewhere.

Tip: To save the maximum of your data going into the wrong hands, and for preserving it, make sure you update your important information on your Google account regularly.

How to setup USB tethering

1 : Plugin your mobile with your intended device : Connect both your devices using a USB cable and make sure they are connected properly, and the connection is stable. (Prefer connecting with the USB port with higher transfer rate. You can identify USB 3.0 as it is usually a blue USB port or demarcated with symbols “SS” or “3.0”).

2 : Open the settings of your phone after ensuring perfect connection between the devices.

3 : Open the “Network and Internet” setting.

4 : Open the “Hotspot and tethering” section.

5 : Toggle the USB tethering (to switch it on).

6 : Wait a while for the connection to estabilish and enjoy constant internet.

Troubleshooting

If you are still experiencing some issues, you can try out these methods to fix your error :

1. Check USB connection : Make sure that the USB connection is working fine and isn’t getting interrupted. You can adjust the wires, tighten the connections, or change the cable (if it is defective).
2. Change USB port : You can try tethering using another USB port. Disconnect the USB cable from the port you are currently using, and instead attach it in some other port and repeat the process again.
3. Disconnect Wi-fi from your mobile : Disconnect wifi connection from your mobile (if connected). For Android users, swipe down from the top panel to disconnect.
4. Restart both devices : Disconnect the USB cable, and restart both your mobile and laptop/desktop and try again.
5. Run Windows Troubleshooter : You can run windows troubleshooter by right clicking on your network access symbol located at the right bottom and resolve your issue.

Wi-fi connections, are also extremely unsafe in public conditions. Hackers can access your interenet activity, whereas in the case of tethering, only a short cable connects both devices. Therefore they have an edge over Wi-fi connections and should be preferred in public places.
